It is a low blow, but intended more for comedic purposes. I've not seen much of Kimmo, other than against the Hawks, so it's no surprise that's the most indelible memory I have of him.

I got that. Was certainly laughing.

Always pains me that I have been stuck watching the SCF in DC in 2010 and 2013. Maybe I need to plan a trip this year.

Why is Kimmo so beloved by the Philly phans?
- howiehandles

cuz he's an effing warrior, has the heart of a lion, and is a genuinely good person. He's also a really solid defensemen. Great fundamentals, great stick, great skating, and I've never seen anyone break up as many 2 on 1's as I've seen him do.

Isn't that more a reflection of where the money us going than a relative value of true team ability?

Oduya was the one killing the Hawks, Everyone thinks Rundblad was why they switched, It was Oduya who was being sheltered.
- Elbows15

I agree about Oduya, think overall it is a combo of things. But no doubt father time has his eye on Oduya.

Will he get turnstiled in OT of game 6?
- TheJerk

He didn't...forced Kane down to the goal line below the left circle, then Leighton somehow allowed a wrist shot thru his 5 hole from a near impossible angle.

That was 99.9% Leighton's fault.

If anyone thinks Kimmo was "turnstiled" on that play...you need to research the meaning of the word.

I don't know ... 12 weeks seems a little extreme when some previous players with similiar injury came back in 6 weeks or so ... Dont forget they screwed and glued it back together ... Glue should be dry by then ...

Not in the context of what is being talked about. And its overblown anyway. They have spent the whole season in the top 3 in GAA until the last week.

If it's "indelible" in your memory, when Kimmo didn't get turnstiled, your memory is flawed...

...or perhaps indelible is another word you need to lookup in Webster's.

First, the odds got higher. 6/1 is better the 7.5/1, which is what 15/2 means. Nashville, MIN & LA look to be a few of the teams making the biggest improvement.
Second, sports book odds are not based on which team the odds maker thinks has the best chance to win. They are set in such a way as to maximize the house take in the event of any outcome. For instance, the chance the Flyers have of winning the SC were significantly higher than 100/1. However, the odds maker throws that out there to get a few Flyer faithful to throw a few bucks in.

Correct on #1...I just edited to make easier to understand....the higher odds make sense because of the loss of Kane. But what should be interesting is the Hawks are still favored and there are a bunch of teams at 12/1. Not worth wasting many keystrokes now because I don't think there is that much money bet yet. I get these emailed so I post them.

2nd point I don't agree with from the standpoint that odds are made to offset the action. The casino don't have to pick winners the goal is to match up $$ on both sides of the ledger. Certain teams are more popular, as you say the Flyers...So there is noneed to raise the line to attract action because it comes to them anyway. The same things goes on with the Cubs as there are number of people who bet them every year to win the Series so there are odds are slanted by their popularity.

Didn't JO have a broken foot from last season? I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't some aggravation of the injury. Pain can cause problems with many different
bodily actions. Not excusing him but there maybe more to the story.

I think it is a factor. When he tries to go all out, I have seen a bit of hitch in his stride. Who knows.

Pain can do a lot to the thought process and making quick decisions. Maybe the upper body injury was a blessing because if we get JO back 100% it's like a another TD move. It will lead to stability to the blue line and add TVR to the mix, I think not all-star we become a very good d-unit.

Correct on #2, I think we're saying the same thing. The odds don't reflect the 'actual' chance to win, but rather betting patterns and house desire to make money. The Cubs example is a valid one. The Blackhawks are also a national team, so their odds are probably lower that would be expected.
