I don't know what there is to disagree with and I have no idea how long it will take for him to heal. My gut feeling is at least 10 weeks...my guess. Marty Biron had a clean break and it took him 14 weeks.

If it is only a collar bone break if it can be determined through scans/Xrays if fully healed.

- Al

But to your point. A simple break? Ligament or further shoulder damage? We'll never know, with the "upper body injury." All semantics now. Don't claim to have any vast medical knowledge.

We'll all speculate and see how it plays out.

He is here. The only reason he hasn't been all season is become of some foolish notion that Carcillo needs to get his ass rag dolled every 5 games or so to fire the team up or something.

And the team has played its best when he has been in the line up because he allows that line to play a shut down role some of the time allowing Toews some easier match ups at times.

You need to slow down or have someone else read what I wrote...Never claimed anything except that there isn't any grey area with a collar bone break. That point stands if the bone is healed he could play if all it was is a clean break, if it isn't fully healed at 10-12-14 weeks he won't play.

My guess he will be out at least 10 weeks and if you go back I cited this is likely different than another poster that took 6 weeks to heal.

Read the words and stop trying to disagree when there is nothing to disagree with.....Never pretended to have any vast knowledge but I did bring up Marty Biron didn't heal for 14 weeks with a clean collar bone break and that is what he said.

Ok. Not sure where you're really going with this, but as I said, everything is conjecture and all speculation at this point, and the risk involved on one of your best assets.

Not looking to get into a pointless argument or pissing match here Al. Let's just let it go, shall we?

Jets lose at home tonight...

5 points back and Hawks have a game in hand.

Meanwhile they play the Preds this week and Blues early next week...let's see if the Hawks can get some ground here.

I was the poster and mine took 8 horrible weeks in a damn ridiculous body cast. The general time frame is 6-8 weeks barring complications or surgery. Though every one is different and no 2 breaks are the same.

I was responding to someone asking why it was going take more than 4-6 weeks to heal and somehow you spun into me being a medical expert.

There was nothing I said to disagree with...Never said I was sure Kane was going to play this season. All I will say and will not back off is ....A collar bone break alone can be determined to be fully healed when it mends. If it is fully healed before the last game is played it is possible Kane could play...But I have made no claim to know when that day will come.

From an injury standpoint it has been stated by doctors he is better off to have broken his clavicle than tear apart his shoulder. Even though he could return from a shoulder injury(separation) sooner that could turn into a chronic problem. When the bone heals it heals and there is no proof he is more likely to break it again because it happened once. That is the opinion of doctors....Not me.

Kids seem to heal faster too...I have seen a kid more than once suffer a broken collar bone and I recall the same, about 6-8 weeks.

I think I read 4-6 weeks for kids, 6-8 weeks for teenagers, 10-12 for adults. So we will see what kind of healing powers Kane's body has! I went with a little quicker then 10 weeks! 66 days....

amazing....now that the trade deadline has passed and ended all the trading hyperbole and speculation here...

now we have a full thread debating #88's injury and when he is coming back, how long it will take, what is the nature of his injury, whats worse a break or shoulder seperation...campbell came back early so that means kane should too, management is sandbagging the injury...you guys are a regular riot...

3 days between games is a very bad thing for this blog....

Plates and screws can stay forever. They can become uncomfortable over time. Does not "have" to be removed before he can come back. Here's a link to a study:

Kruger is a center. As is Nordstrom and Shaw. That is a lot of IFs in there regarding Desjardins, Every time Nordstron has played, the 4th line has been effective. Think the Hawks view Nordstron as the PK replacement for Smith. Ot Saad/Versteeg before Desjardins, imo. Also Vermette.

Honestly think they just wanted a bigger body than Carcillo. Or maybe they just got tired of watching Carcillo get his ass whupped.

- Elbows15

That's questionable.

Jets getting schooled by the Sens. Big Buff just left the ice favoring his shoulder a la Kane.

Freakin' great....sigh

I am 3rd of 12 in my yearly cash league and have endured injuries to atty Kane, Giordano, Taylor Hall, Lundquist, Krejci A earlier, Howard. Now you say Buffer could be gone too.

Geez.....talk about getting crushed!!!! (Keeper league though, so gotta hold them and STILL try to hold onto the last cash spot (3rd). Gonna be almost impossible!!!

My number for the Kane return sweepstakes is 77.

I found a good article on the type of injury Kane suffered here: http://undisclosedinjury....2015/02/patrick-kane.html

Looks like plates/pins usually stay in and the normal - avg recovery time is 12 weeks.

As one of the former hockeyFutures hawk editors, I think you ignore the list.

The guy is pretty much clueless and not in grasp of understanding the hawk prospects, potential or even what their strengths are.

I went out of curiosity and came away feeling he was a fan, but not in anyway capable of supplying an adequate list and the Euro exceptions justify my opinion.

I think it is a bad opinion and bad list and site whose fans know more than the editors.
