63 days, 9 weeks, or April 29, which I believe would be early Round 2

If Luongo prognosis not good, FLA GM Dale Tallon may trade for goalie. Trades are permitted post-deadline but player not playoff eligible.

I didn't know that. Is this part of the newest CBA?

If we are going to have a pool it has to be retroactive to the day of the injury and the guess has to be in days not weeks. From the time Kane went off the ice until his 1st shift back....

I.e. an entry would look like this :

Kanes return to action pool :

Paulish - 68 days .

And someone else will have to run this one cus im in training at work as of 0800 today , like 2 minutes ago . Lol

Yeah but Vermette eases the pain a little. Like a scotch after work, it doesn't solve all your problems but it sure makes them seem a little less bad!

Put me down for May 26th. That's 83 days. I figure Kane will be back for game 3 or 4 of the Conference Finals.

Is there anyone here with medical expertise that can shed some light on the long-term effects of Kane's broken collarbone. My good friend's father is an Orthopedic Surgeon and he said that Kane will never be able to shoot as hard and that it is going to have a large effect on him moving forward. Are we going to get the same 88 back that we saw this year? im very worried given the Orthopedic Surgeon's thoughts....

Well he is a left handed shot. All the weight and pressure will be in the left shoulder when he shoots, so I think it would have some effect on his shot. Of course his back hand most likely won't be effected so at least he can keep roofing those.

I would think his slapper would be the most effected and then his wrister. BTW, I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV.

Top hand is for stickhandling so he should still have the best mitts in the business! I still think that this is better than a shoulder joint injury bc the joint is for EVERY motion (as was discussed earlier on this thread by Al and others)

I stand corrected on trading after the deadline. It has to be a free agent signing, not a trade. My mistake.

And that could be why.....Carry on.

Really depends on if he has a shoulder injury or not... As long as the bone heals - and since they used a plate and screws it should heal in the correct shape \ position - there isn't any reason why that joint would be too poorly impacted.

Obviously it wont be 100% when he comes back but it shouldnt be that dramatic and by next year hell be back to his normal killing for fun self.

You need to get out of the no cap room mindset. There will be cap room. Probably.

HS has a new summary piece on the Hawks prospects dtd 3/2/15.

http://www.hockeysfuture....ckhawks-top-20-prospects/

They have Johns ahead of TVR and Hayden ahead of Nordstrom even though the latter have NHL time.... I guess they rank based on their opinion of upside potential. Almost half of their top 20 are in college.

Watch this Iacopelli kid playing for Muskegon in the USHL on his way to Western Michigan next year. I've seen him play several times and I really like his acumen and head for the game.

We'll so how he develops at Western over the next few years.

He and Hayden have some size their forward group of prospects generally lack. Hope they both make it. TWT.
