Not being clever at all. You asked for one trade that changed the roster. Well, that's exactly what he did.

You know what I mean and I've made clear through whatever this is right now.

I think it means that you don't assess a player you signed to a multi year deal based on one season.

The contract term he's going to get is concerning at his age. He's been damned good this year, I don't think he's a #1 dman, but I think he can handle top pairing minutes and situations. I guess we're splitting hairs though.
- PLindbergh31

thats the troubling part about him/martin/hoff.

theyre all getting up there, and theyre all going to demand 5 plus years.

not only will you be paying top dollar for them now, but you will be when they are 34

It's really the first year he's shown this level of ability. Before, any time he was on the top-pair, he was w/ Chara.

I'm not banking on him being the Mike Knuble of defensemen.

I just don't think they can afford to add any more big-$/long-term contracts... unless they find some way to shed AMac and/or Streit first.

So, if he traded Amac/Umberger, that wouldn't count as a trade that changed the roster?

Agree with you there. Lurch can definitely erase his partners mistakes.

Add Boychuck and keep MacDonald, and it looks even better in my opinion.
- MJL

Going rate is one thing, but paying for filet and getting a Happy meal (literally) sets a franchise back.

haha i know. but still. there will be no bargains with that trio this summer.

the market sucks. teams want them. and there will be paying through the nose.

you typically always overpay in FA. if the player works out, you sort of just accept it as the cost of bringing in outside help.

Morin is the next Chara. That's why his offense is taking so long to develop. Because he's Chara

Even Chara wasn't Chara with the Isles and the Sens, it took several years and a trip to beantown for the beast to truly emerge.

Also, your constant tardiness is getting tiresome. Pick up your game!
