I do stripes.
He also made it to -30 this season.

Which he has mentioned several times to the media. He knows he had a horrible year. He owned up to it. He also played most of his games injured. He is one person on the blue line that I am not worried about for next season.

Bu what about his integrity factor. How is that going to be heading in to next year?

The only players we have that are a + are Pysyk and Bogo. They just haven't been here long enough yet.

Who should have they brought in to play defense? Keep McBain?
- jacquescloutier

LA now has McBain, McNabb, Regehr and Sekera on their team. Count in Doughty and Muzzin and I would still rather have Bogosian, Z, Risto, Pysyk and McCabe at this point moving forward. Don't get me wrong about Doughty. He and Weber are the best in the league IMO.

This makes perfect sense. The Coyotes acquired pieces that will help them rebuild their franchise while also making themselves worse for the chance at McEichel. The Sabres got nothing. The difference is they had assets left to trade and we didn't.
- Pierceme69

Agreed because the assets that will make the Sabres better next year are already property of them.

Sure the Sabres could have traded away Risto and Ennis and Girgensons that would have been a FULL OUT F the season up we are finishing last and going to be bad for the next decade trade to get McEichel.

It bothers me that 1 ESPN still has "hockey writers". The Sabres already have players in the wing ready to step up they just didn't have that superstar in waiting.

Next year the Sabres will be better than the Yotes because of the trades they made yesterday.

Exactly...he is the one veteran I want on the blue line with the kids next year.

Then that's the type of player you pay above market price to acquire.
- TheSabresTaco

Right, I guess the disparity comes down to my opinion of the players we moved

IMO 3 years from now it could be

Myers Armia>>Bogo Kane

Plus the other assets. Obviously Murray has a differing opinion

Why does anyone care what ESPN has to say ? they can care less about the NHL let alone the Sabres. The only time they show hockey is when there is 1 minute left in sports center or there is a big fight in a game, that's calling yourself " the total sports network" ?

What Kate fails to realize is that Buffalo made all of "those" moves over the past two years. How else do you get 3 1st rounders in this draft and 20 other in the top 3. not to mention the blockbuster trade this year and the best pipeline of talent just waiting to come up. What does Arizona have in their farm system?

Armia was never going to play here.

But to you trading Myers and Armia is "doing anything" and to others it's not.
- GilPerreault11

Right. And people have been praising WPG too for the way they got multiple quality assets for those two.

Again, my opinion of the players we traded is where the difference lies.

It's not like I want Murray fired or anything

It very well could be Myers Armia>>Bogo Kane

It also could be Myers>Bogo Kane with Armia in Europe

It could be Myers Armia=Bogo Kane

It could also be Myers a 45 pt D Kane a 65-70pt winger and Bogo being a shut down D.

"On Monday’s TSN broadcast, former Leafs coach and analyst-for-a-day Ron Wilson recalled the time he was asked by an unnamed (but pretty easy to figure out) general manager to sabotage his own team. Wilson’s chances of getting another head coaching job were thin in the morning. After that lapse of reason, they’re non-existent."

It's a joke. Katie Strang (NYR and ESPN) called Phoenix "winners" at the deadline, but Buffalo "losers." I don't get it.

She even threw in a line taking a shot at the Buffalo weather for good measure! She said that McDavid better like the cold weather - nevermind that he is from Canada....

- jacquescloutier

Katie Strange was also the beat writer for the Isles from '09-'11. Weird she started the year after the Isles bottomed out and drafted Tavares.

Murray is orchestrating much bolder moves which is way more polarizing.

He is doing things Darcy was unable to do or was not allowed to do. Its different so apparently it is Worse/Wrong

- RynoBull

Is Murray the Anti-Regier? I think so. Much more bolder in his decision making.

The Sabres will be heavily under the Salary cap going into the 2015-16 season.

He has a draft and Free Agency to set the ship right.

I'm not saying the Sabres will be a playoff team, but they could easily come in and show big $$$ to FAs and get some very good hockey players in their top 6-9 that will only help them get closer to their goals.
