Wisniewski's cap hit is pretty bad at 5.5mil, but CBJ already paid the years where he was paid 7, 7, 6, and most of this years 6. Getting rid of Bourque's 3.3 for next year offsets this increase quite a bit.

Plus, a 2nd rounder in the mid/late 20s for a 3rd rounder in the 5-10 range is not much.

Very happy the Ducks didn't get stuck into overpaying for Dion's huge contract. This is a much more reasonable trade that can easily be swallowed if needed.

I think the trade made sense for both teams. Ducks got the help on D they needed for a reasonable cap hit and CBJ got some forward depth and cleared some cap space to spend this summer. I wish Wiz well he was a class act.
