Dear God Murray needs to be fired
- Maverick1818

Shame on him for not getting the Cowen and Michaklek for Ryan O'reilly deal done.

Why? He did what I expected. Now he needs to get Condra on board, everything else can be done at the Draft.
- TheCalSen

He should be fired because he is doing absolutely nothing to advance this team at all.

I get we aren't going to be a contender over night but do something. Buffalo gave up Christ stewart for a 2nd round pick. Ottawa could have done that awesome move. We should have gone hard for Evander Kane. Heck we should be getting rid of players like Michalek, Cowen, legwand, Smith, Greening. package them together. or even for picks but do something to advance the team and build a cup contender.

Right now he is not aggressive at all. He has build a sh*t team and he is doing nothing to try and fix it.

What team is going to take a combo of those junk players? 2 or 3 of them in a "package" would cost 4-6 million for next season. What team would do that? Please enlighten us. We are stuck with those guys whether people like it or not. Today was not the day Murray's job was on the line. Expect an interesting summer.

Greening and legwand would probably clear waivers. Not likely to get any interest via trade. The rest of those guys would get you maybe a 5th rd pick at best. Cowen might get something valuable but i dont think the sens are ready to give up on him yet.

I am very happy that Murray stuck with the existing roster. I thought the team would improve in the second half. They have. They will be even better next year. Priority now is to let kids grow into becoming a more competitive force.

Teams have been calling about those players. it's been reported several times over the last few weeks. On TSn trade center they have talked about it several times today that teams have called about Cowen, Michalek, Smith, Greening.

Aves being one of them (just because of the comment earlier) and Murray went on record yesterday saying Cowen will not be moved.

Why the F*ck not, Cowen is unless to the Sens. If anything give him a chance on another team and get something for him while he still has value. Same with Michalek.

Even trade him for draft picks but do something to make the team better.

Sorry I didn't want to swear but holy I am so fed up with this management system. They have made us a 2nd rate team in this league and they are fine with milking fans dry on hope and doing nothing about it. They should have been fired the second Spezza was traded because it's been all down hill from there.

I think the problem is that other teams have to move money too for those said players. Most teams just won't add a struggling player making 3 or 4 million dollars per. IE a bad contract has probably been offered coming back. It doesn't solve any problems.

I'm not sure why you think Michalek has so much value. He doesn't. Same with everyone else you want to get rid of. There was no pressure to improve this team today. No need to get discouraged.

Wow. Chris Stewart is a UFA this season and he is garbage. Why would you waste a 2nd on crap like that? Let me ask you this is, if you had a nice top-6 forward would you trade him for say: Michalek, Prince, 3rd? You would only do that deal if you had a lot of top-6 forwards and a need for depth; which most teams don't have. Why would they get rid of top-6 talent for a load of crap.

All the trades so far have been depth moves; bottom pairing players, except for Yandle. Ottawa doesn't need bottom pairing players.

Maybe because no other teams wants to acquire garbage players and murray doesnt want to trade his better players. Just a thought.

If any team wanted Greening, he'd be gone. At any price.

Isn't smith still on IR, I don't see teams wanting him.

Michalek is looking better right now, but that contract is too much for teams to swallow. If he is still playing this way in two years time, then he'll be moved easy at the deadline.

I also don't think the team is going downhill since the Spezza trade. They're in a bout the same position they were in since then. If anything a little better, since so many young players are looking to have bright futures.

if teams are calling about those players that means there is opportunity to move them. I still think a package would bring in more value. however even if you get a late pick for them why not. Their value isn't going up anytime soon and we could dump their bad contracts so int he summer we can afford to do more.

Cowen = potential to be a good top-4. His value is low now and GMS know that. I assure you most offers to BM were very low ball offers. You don't accept low-ball offers for someone like Cowen's potential. He's got a lot of time before you or anyone else can call him a bust.

Would making a trade for say a 5th round pick really be any different though?

If we're talking about a Greening trade, the only potential possibility I see is the Clarkson deal that was rumored a few days ago.

I disagree, Stewart on the right line could be a top 6 forward, he has the size, speed and skill and grit to do it.

We saw far stinkier garbage being tossed around than what Ottawa has. BM is using his low cap roll to his advantage. Many teams will be forced to make major moves for lesser value in a season or two.

Ya, trading 3rd liners for 5th rd picks isn't going to change much. He has to do something bold next summer. Trade one of the goalies, or trade a top player off the team.

it would dumb salary for this summer. I believe a team is never finished and should never remain stagnant. I'm not saying we should solidify a team but a team in the NHL gets success like the hawk, boston LA, Ect by doing a few things #1. Drafting and developement (Ottawa has done and is doing that) #2. being aggressive on trades and always trying to get better (Ottawa simple has not done that and is not putting any effort into doing that)

I don't agree. Plus if he was acquired and you say he is a top-6 winger; he would take the spot of Michalek (which isn't a huge improvement; both are top-9 wingers) until Mac comes back.

Then he wouldn't sign in Ottawa and we would lose out on a prospect who could end up being the next Getzlaf or ...

But how long are we going to keep saying "we'll have a good team in 2-3 years"? We've been saying it since we made it to the finals and since then we have been through 3 half asses rebuilds.

There comes a time when all those promises have to lead somewhere otherwise we will become a team like the leafs (who by the way are doing much more then us right now)

Because Ottawa doesn't have the pieces as of now.
