don't retain ne thing... hopefully the cap will continue to raise and Dion can be an ok 3 or 4th d man on this team down the road... But if you can get an asset for him with out retaining salary or taking on a bad contract for a long term you do it...

I think Dion is a good 2D. Place him with someone better and he would thrive. Unfortunately 7 mil is quite a bit for a 2D.

Though I expect Dion's contract will be the norm in a few years. GM's will always sign outrageous deals.

Nah who's he better than? He honestly does nothing well.. Top things said about his game are his shot and big hits. I disagree.. He is constantly missing the net 15 feet high and wide and maybe lands 2/3 big hits a year. He gets out muscled/worked by smaller players constantly, probably leads the league in stupid penalty's.. slow.. Rielly,Polak, Holzer are better imo...
