He will not be a top 5-10 defenseman in the NHL. There we disagree. Will he improve with better coaching? I hope so, but I'll just let it play it out and see where it goes.

It's not even trading Myers. It's trading him plus 4 other pieces to get 2 guys Winnipeg considered underachievers

This is funny. ARZ is about to trade their best player who is not a UFA and they haven't got nearly as much heat as the Sabres for tanking. If the Sabres trade Neuvirth Dave Hodge and all the other snot nosed losers will write the articles saying the Sabres are tanking and forget about Darcy and the Coyotes.

What I meant to say that I want to see the the entire process played out. So the spin the drum pull a ball and say "#1 goes to (team). Then they spin the drum and pull the next ball, if it's the same team, they throw it out and pick again until another team is drawn. Repeat this process until it's over.

If in that process someone, managed to rig it they would have had to really earn that one

We didn't have fowards supporting and playing a team first style. Left our d out on an island far too often. Myers has potential to be a #1 but he's still a project.
I don't mind the trade. We needed a foward that could create mis matches and we got a solid, big dman back.

yup, I think anyone plays better with better talent surrounding them, I mean it makes sense. Another coach may help him iron out some of his flaws, which could ultimately make him into a top D-man but you never know until you know

Because it's not that simple. I read an article explaining it. It takes 4 draws to get the ball that goes into the drawing. Each of the 4 are weighted based on different criteria. One is puck possession, another is standings and I can't remember the other two and can't find the article. Sorry. They said it would be too cumbersome. Hope that sorta explains it.

True, but with a sexy intrest drawing player and constant exposure on ESPN, NHL commercials what have you, then AZ becomes the next penguins: A team that was 10 minutes from leaving town until the NHL realized it would be wise to keep them and build up that market in which Lemuiex saved the team.

AZ is such a huge untapped market and Phoenix is the fastest growing city in the US, plenty of casual fans to pander to with the right marketing and constant exposure, they could very well have a bunch of Sunday afternoon games on NBC

Then again, I hope this is all moot and the Sabs get the #1 so a city the deserves a Crosby (not to say echiel isn't) player and is loyal to their team can finally at least say we had one

Myers was in need of a move... From day one the kid had so much on him to be a 1# dmen. He did everything he could to be that there was way to much on the kid way too soon. If anything Buffalo failed him . With the trade he must have felt a 300lbs weight was lifted off of him.
