many points to disagree with...I still stand by my notion that Regier was not a joke of a gm...will reiterate that I was not enamored with the type of players he preferred to build with...nor did I like his stripping down of the hardest working team in hockey...but he build the Ferrari that people fell in love with...too bad the nhl changed and like someone aptly pointed out, he failed to adjust...

here's what he got for those guys...and as murray continues the work that Regier started, it's the gift that keeps on giving:

Certainly agree that he chose to build around the wrong players and failed to adjust when the league reverted. He succeeded in finding second line talent in other teams garbage cans, just enough to keep us in a never ending cycle of mediocrity. Which kept us from drafting any difference makers. Regardless of our opinions, can we at least agree that darcy regier is not remotely worthy of being handed connor mcdavid? After decades of never finding a star offensive player in the draft it would be a travesty to have him leave and be handed a generational talent.

Lou is one of the most over rated people in hockey over the last few years. That organization is a mess.

Detroit is an anomaly. They replenish talent better than anyone

If Glencross can pull a 2015 2nd and 3rd, Stewart should be able to get a 2nd...

I think they are limited to the number of trades they can make while eating celery.

Maybe the boss doesn't want that?

Tickets were sold but the seats are empty which means less concession income coming in.

Just a thought.

He has sucked over the last few years.

Screwing his team out of a 1st.
Trading a top 10 pick for a goalie
Signing over the hill vets so they can finish 6th or 7th from the bottom
Awful prospect pool
No franchise player

Does anyone know who the players we would/could have had, if we hadn't signed the Offer Sheet? I understand that in theory the Oil would've been better, but as we've watched Thomas, how much better could they have really become? I wonder

You're good on this call, but you can't pick and choose which part of a man's resume you want to highlight but his trending suggests he is long in the tooth and being a tad selfish in wanting something before he leaves. This will leave the organization behind and his legacy could be tarnished because of it.

P.S. I hated him for the use of the "Neutral Zone" trap, it hurt the game and I'm biased to enjoying quality hockey.

4 1st rounders starting in 08.

Jake Gardiner
Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson
Taylor Hall
RNH

were the players selected but like you said there is no guarantee they pick at those spots.

Taking cash is of course completely separate from %CapHit/based upon number of games left.

I have nothing entertaining to say so I'll throw this out there.

Gone by 3PM tomorrow

Stewart (2nd)
Mitchell (4th)
Meszaros (5th)

I'm still 50/50 on Neuvirth moving.

I also think somebody we don't expect, IE a non UFA gets moved.

These are all guess. no inside info.

You can only eat half a cap hit, salary remaining, and/or bonus money.

They ate half of Staff's cap hit which is 2 mil but he had 1.29 mil left on his deal so they ate 645k in actual dollars.

@DarrenDreger: Leafs are not shopping Bernier and likely won't trade him, but there has been some interest expressed and Toronto remains willing to listen

I hope we are among the teams calling.
I'd love to get him

I would lose my mind laughing if that happened. Them or Toronto. Absolutely hate Crouse. He's done very mediocre offensively, less than a point a game, is a mediocre skater as well. Only thing he does relatively well is hit, and he's got an alright shot. Very similar to Ritchie last year. I hate the fact that all of the "experts" are trying
so hard to push him being good onto everyone. His principal mother must've paid them off.
