Not saying that, but don't tell me you are impressed with what you saw from Smith-Pelly so far...
- stinger67

He and Galchenyuk were the only ones hitting anything last night and he and Gallagher were the only ones going to the net. Defensively I thought he was pretty piss poor getting to the points. But I think you could say that about all the forwards.

I hoping the Habs management did their homework on Pelley, he hasn't been good.

But he did lay out Dillon behind the net

- blarneylad

he also set De La Rose up for a tap in

EDit: I'm not saying he was a godsend by any means. Just that Secak would have been just as useless last night.

Well we needed a goalscorer Bergevin and you did NOTHING to adress that
- Fredobface

Who was available? A goal scorer would not have made a difference last night, they just played like poop.

17 losses at the trade deadline. Not too shabby.

Because everything he did here would suggest otherwise...or is it the pts he got with top forwards that don't play for this team?

I'd say he's the best player not named Carey Price.

And it's been the case for years.

My dad, who's a fervent Hab-hater/French-lover, said Markov deserves to have his number retired more than Cournoyer or Gainey.

Not that he thinks it SHOULD be, but that he's up to the standards the organization has set.

Seriously, I'm pretty sure Bergevin tried a few deals, but to be honest, most of what was available this season was crap.

...and for what isn't available, often you need to overpay. Bergevin probably didn't wanted to mortgage the future for a rental.

Thats what he said in the interview last night. Nothing available or too expensive for his taste.

I'd agree that Secak has a better potential to go top 6...but there's going to be a few guys that will have that potential coming up. Not too many or any have the physicality that DSP has shown glimpses of.

I have Pete checking into this as we speak.
I have no really issue with DSP overall type of game. Although he isn't particularly fast.

He'll arrive at the draft with 10M of cap space and a (late ) 1st rounder. He'll be a in a better position.
