Except he might be asking for 6-years $30M facing UFA. - Tomahawk
He might, there's a risk in only offering him a one year deal. He might choose to test free agency. There is also a risk in signing him to a multi year deal and he regresses again. |

Yeah, that risk was there w/ Mason too. If they're sure he's a keeper, give him 3-years at fair value. If not, trade him right (frank)ing now.

Not the only two options. The Flyers have control for next year. |

My thing about it is this:
No matter what he's done, MDZ and his agent are probably thinking, "I already took my haircut, this season. How much longer am I supposed to prove myself?"
The Flyers don't have to do anything more than qualify him. It's fine if they go that route.
But if I'm him, I'm not interested in taking another "prove it" contract. If you qualify me, fine. But don't think you're going to not pay me fair value the second I have leverage |

Glencross a Capital - Crimsoninja
Both picks are this year's. I love how the Metro teams are all trading away multiple picks from this year's draft |

No question about that. It depends on what risk you want to take.

Risk for both, for sure -- he's got to play well to earn it, but the Flyers have to pay more if he does
Tricky
I'd go two years, hope for the best, but wouldn't rule out three |

I was kind of surprised. They got good value for him, but no immediate help. Maybe they will flip the Caps' picks for another player. |

Sounds like a couple of picks for Glencross from Caps. - opeth_pa
Caps were hurting for a big grinding type forward. |

Come down to the Carnival where you'll win a prize if you can guess how many Flyer buyout/healthy scratches can fit inside the funny car!

They seem like a good fit for Coburn, but theres no way they part with a first rounder for him. |

Nope, they're not a strong enough contender to offer a 1st |

So i get it people want Coby gone or are open to trade...My question is who is going to take his place? Aside from Hexy trading the farm to get a true #1 d-man, dont see anyting or anyone on FA this summer to fill that role. |
