Not me...was absolutely amazed he netted a third
- AllInForFlyers

I admit that I would have preferred him to Rinaldo.

lol

I sure remember a lot of upset people around here when he was traded. A few were saying that he was a top 6 forward.

We all realize Grossman faked that conky to avoid being dealt, right?

Pretty much. Jerk him around, corner him into a 1-year cheap deal, and he's liable to walk the following summer.
- Tomahawk

Maybe, but if he's playing well next year, and you offer his a good multi year deal, he's likely to take it.

I think a lot of defenseman thrive when they receive more minutes. MDZ seems to fit that category. He wasn't going to get big minutes with the Rangers or Preds.

It's been one of my issues with Berube in regards to his defensive rotations. It's difficult to play loose when you're one bad stretch away from a 10 game benching.

- PhillySportsGuy

Plenty of players have had bad stretches on this team. How many got a 10 game benching?

I do wish Kimmo stayed for last nights game, I went to it and wanted to see him play one last time in our jersey but wish him the best. Great win, unfortunate that Grossmann got injured just as trade talks were picking up with the Ducks and Flames. Hope it wasn't anything too serious. Was a weird injury. Couldn't tell if hit in head or not, but the way he was carried off the ice, you would have thought it was his left knee as he wasnt putting any weight on it.

If MDZ has another good year, theres really no incentive to signing an extension in season unless he's blown away by the offer. Flyers have an opportunity to lock him up for a few years without risking too much.

Sure there is incentive if he likes playing here and wants the security. I'd qualify him and then offer him a one year deal at 2.75M. If he'll take the deal suggested this year, he'll take it next year also.

He's a ufa next year. Aren't you always the one telling people how cap hits for defenseman can't be compared when one was signed during rfa and the other during ufa?

Who was comparing defenseman signed as an RFA versus a UFA in this conversation?

I was re-reading the comments by Hexy on the Kimmo trade ... and I can't help but be impressed on how intelligent he comes across.

For once, I am confident that our GM will make the right decisions on the future of the team, and will get good, solid value for the players he trades.

- FlyerGuy

You mean you didn't appreciate the cagey, stone-faced reticence of Clarke and Homer?

Except he might be asking for 6-years $30M facing UFA.
