http://www.cbssports.com/...ing-for-radko-gudas-picks
Gudas, who is currently recovering from right knee surgery, still has one year remaining on his contract. He is a physical defenseman that could fit in well with the Flyers defense, though he was primarily used as a bottom-pairing guy in Tampa.
The Flyers also may be waving the white flag a little bit as they fade in the playoff race. They're still alive, but Gudas won't be back until the end of the regular season at the earliest. Shedding salary while taking on some really solid assets for the future makes this one a winner for Philly. |

Joe Smith of the TB Tribune says Yzerman confirmed both deals. Both picks are the Lightning's own selections. The 1st rounder is lottery protected. If Tampa misses the POs and pick becomes number one, the Flyers get the Rangers 1st rounder(acquired in the St Louis/Callahan deal) |

Still ... I think this is an excellent trade for Philly! Never know, they might use these picks to trade for a big name! |

It's a really good trade, no doubt. I'm not a huge Gudas fan, but he's 24, and has some potential.
But the picks are excellent |

It's the picks, but we will have to evaluate this in like 5 years.
If they move someone else, who are they calling up? |

Yeah I don't know much about Gudas at all ... but I am excited about the picks! Even if the first is going to be late in the first round, this is still a very deep draft! Yet I am not so sure that they hold on to it ... |

Gudas hasn't sniffed the ice since december because of a knee injury. They couldn't do better than a crippled guy? Oh well, the best part of this deal is definitely that first
Now if only Grossmannnnnnn didn't get hurt it would've been hopefully another one out the door. If Hex is able to get someone to bite on VLC he truly is a genius.
Somebody here called Coby to the Lighting a couple of days back if i remember correctly.
Good luck to Coby, 10 years with this franchise is impressive, seeing as it seems like most guys don't last very long lately in OB. I thought after his first full season with this team that the guy would be a complete stud for years to come, he never really fulfilled that which is too bad because the guy had all the tools to be studly. Either way he gave this team some really good seasons and playoff performances. |
