It almost has to be Calgary that they would try to bundle Coburn and Vinny to. They are almost the only team out there with that kind of cap space to burn who might be willing to use it on a straight buyout - AllInForFlyers
Is Vinny ready to waive his NMC/NTC whatever it is and accept a trade in name only and collect 2 buyouts.

6-5, 220, skates well, turned 30 two days ago, proven Top 4 defender who can eat minutes
He isn't Superman, but he could really help a team - AllInForFlyers
Yes, he helps THIS team
Screw that, I'm not giving him away to get rid of VL, I'd buy him out first, (VL). |

Even if they were I think Tampa has zero interest in Vinny, regardless of what player you tie him to. - hereticpride
Couldn't be zero if at the very least because of their history. |

Isn't that the real joke of it?
The only player who could be bought out by 2 teams.

Heretic's idea is good, but yeah, that's what I'd do
I'd just buy his ass out and keep Coburn for one more year, but I will understand if they try to get cute tomorrow if they can get rid of Wheels and not retain any dollars
Just was right when he said that it's gonna hurt, no matter what, when it comes to handling the Wheels issue

No, he doesn't have to.
He has a contact, & he's playing it thru, doesn't matter if this team doesn't want him anymore, (not to him).
This team has pi$$ed $$$ away on many mistakes, what's one more?
I say buy him out, & end this, even if you hand another team a good player in addition to taking him, your still going to keep some of his salary.

Because retaining some of his salary in a deal would still eat some cap room, same as buying him out.
What team would take him, and not demand we eat a portion of his money?
No one would. |

I hear you; that's why I phrased it that way. Retaining dollars only works if you get a good asset back
You don't retain dollars to take a poopty player back, because you can just buy your problem out

I am with you, just saying his ego and not wanting to leave the game yet, he could take the buyouts and keep playing. I wish he would man up and retire |

Because he has too much ego to retire.
Don't forget, he was a top player at one time, cup ring, fan favorite, etc.
The first buyout had to really kill his ego, & then he gets a 2nd chance in another city.
All that damn hype about him playing RW after he signed.
Man, I hated this signing back when it happened, he was on a steady decline every year in Tampa right up to the buyout.
How about Wisniewski in Columbus?
They want to shop him, and he gives them a list of teams that are capped out, or can't take him.
He wants to stay, even knowing they want to shop him. |

Tampa Bay basically said they were done with him or at least wasnt worth this contract....Philly has basically said the same and no one wants him with what he makes now. You would think pride would set in and say "hey i cant hang anymore or I just don't have it" |

But how many drop out at the first mention of Vinny?
Calgary might feel desperate enough to do it. I don't think Tampa has the slightest bit of interest in Vinny but I think they could come up with the best offer for Coburn. |

They all do, unless they are tanking & need the $ to hit the floor.
And then they wouldn't be looking at Coburn anyway. |

(frank) Vinny. If a team wants to give up a 1st and a good prospect for Coburn, or more, I'll keep Vinny and buy him out |

i don't care about the remaining dollars owed to him...what's the cost in cap space and for how long, 6 years?
is it possible they could come to a mutual agreement to just terminate his contract, and then he could sign with another team...or is there a provision against that in the cba...like he'd have to go to the khl or somewhere other than north america in order for that to be kosher? |

Might be the best bet.
If I can leverage Calgary into trading their first (with no lotto protections) I'm jumping all over that deal. |
