The rags' highest pick n 2013 was a 3rd rounder (Duclair). The following season, their highest pick was a 2nd rounder.
The Marty St. Louis deal leaves the without a first round pick this year, and they traded away their 2nd this year as well in the Yandle deal. They get a 2nd rounder, though, if Callahan re-signs with TB before March 5th. Don't really see that happening though.
They're also without their 2nd round pick next season because of the Yandle trade.

Umberger's looked a lot better. Not enough to warrant his pay, but enough to make it somewhat bearable. Vinny should get moved, though. Maybe Edmonton will take him with a Dman. - JAKEw1234
It will be very interesting to see what Edmonton does to shake things up. I really believe Hexy is moving 2 more dmen by the deadline, which two I have no idea.

Hedman has been back for a while. Stralman is still playing high minutes. - MJL
Since I said Hedman was hurt, not is still out, I knew that he has been back, and we were talking about point production and not minutes played, so your post is not germane

Long term cash, MJL...long term
Can't extend Yandle if you are paying Callahan in 2019...which they will not be doing, nor will they be paying St.Louis - AllInForFlyers
Is St. Louis coming back? Or sign another forward to replace him?

The post you replied to stated that Stralman was playing 22 minutes a game, so it was about minutes played.

That's encouraging, it didn't look good last night. I really hope he didn't get hit in the head, he has taken some real shots since being acquired by the Flyers.

Only some people on this site would try to argue that Anton Stralman is as productive as Victor Hedman when Hedman has played 20 fewer games and has one fewer point |

To pur it another way, the Rangers have a pretty good shot to end up like the Phillies between lack of pipeline, lack of picks, and impending contracts.
Gonna be interesting.
I hope they end up sucking for 30 years. (frank) em. |

In your zeal to argue, did you miss the part about Stralman "leading the Lightning in scoring," which was part of the same damn sentence?

I didn't miss anything. I clearly posted and stated an opinion towards the minutes played aspect of the conversation. I did not in anyway state that Stralman would be at any time more productive then Hedman would be, or compare Stralman to Hedman in any way whatsoever.

But well enough to trade?
Are any legit sources reporting that they might be able to package VL with a D man or is that an Ek pipe dream? |

Has to be a pipe dream. What would the Flyers have to include, or take back in any deal that looks like that, is what I'm wondering. I'd love to be able to listen to those conversations.

Do you honestly believe Stralman isn't a top 4 dman though? Thats all I was disagreeing with you about. I think the trade for Yandle is fair value. Not overpayment, but certainly not underpayment.
I just think this trade and the MSL could come back to haunt them in the future. |
