Dreger says Duclair, Moore and a 2016 1st rounder for Yandle, with ARZ eating 50% of Yandle's money
- Jsaquella

good...that gets 10 years of being torched by duclair out of our hair, not to mention whomever they would have picked in the first round next year. i like it.

The #coyotes now have two first-round picks in 2015, two in 2016, Domi and Duclair. Decent shot at landing McDavid or Eichel, too.

Along with a young, #1 dman. They may have a brighter future than the Flyers

Yotes paying half the freight, and the main chip Rags are giving up is a player drafted after the Flyers selected Z2.

I like it more for Arizona. I like Yandle, but I could see Duclair being a 30 goal scorer, Moore is a big, nasty defenseman, could be a solid 4th guy and is only 24. Arizona only eating money for this year and next.
- Jsaquella

Time will tell. I think it makes NY strong for the playoffs. Real strong.

solid analysis as always

thoughts on who you want in this year's draft?

- Crimsoninja

Well assuming they don't win the lottery because Hinkie has to take Okafor, it has to be Russell or Mudiay. I really don't know enough about either guy to determine which is better.

Also going to NYR is defenseman Chris Summers, and ARZ getting another pick (might be a 2nd)

EDIT: nope, just Summers to NYR

Final deal looks like Yandle & Summers to NYR for Duclair, Moore and 2016 1st rounder.

- Jsaquella

Dreger's saying now it's yandle, summers and a 4th to NYR for duclair, Moore, a 2016 1st and a 2015 2nd

Can't say I do. The Rags are better than they were yesterday. I kept reading the asking price for Yandle was through the roof. If the Rags are in top half of NHL next year which I'm sure they will be, the pick will be at end of first round. The Rags back end now is loaded and young.

Why is every team that builds through the draft suddenly compared to Edmonton?

Exactly -- that pick might be 27 or 28, 29th or 30th if they are as good as they could be. And I have a horrible feeling they will be very, very good

Edmonton is a (frank)ed organization because they are dumb.

The coyotes are/were a (frank)ed organization because they have no fans and no one cared.

Duclair, Domi, and then McDavid/Eichel/Marner will be SCARY.

Not making the playoffs stinks, but this is definitely a good time to be a seller.

Didn't see this move coming. With the Rangers already Girardi, McDonough, Boyle and Staal on their blue line, looks like the Rangers are going all in.
- SuperSchennBros

I don't know, it seems like the Coyotes could have gotten more than this.
Is this that great a haul?
certainly makes the Rangers much better, without losing anything on the current roster.

I don't know.
My only point is that loads of first round picks in consecutive years is a guarantee of...nothing. And the odds of being able to pay them all their market worth when they come of age are extremely low.

don't worry. half of them will suffer season ending injuries in training camp.
