Good for both, I feel
Phoenix is going nowhere, with or without Yandle, and that's a good haul
But getting Yandle to play with that squad...eff eff eff

Gotta give credit to Slats for going all in. I do like that d-man pool continues to dwindle. How good of a prospect is Duclair? Better then Krieder a few years back?

Also going to NYR is defenseman Chris Summers, and ARZ getting another pick (might be a 2nd)
EDIT: nope, just Summers to NYR
Final deal looks like Yandle & Summers to NYR for Duclair, Moore and 2016 1st rounder.

1. One more reason to dislike the Rangers. They're going to be a handful for the Metro for a while now.
2. It seems like an even enough deal on players but AZ keeping half the salary is what tips it in the Rangers' favor imho |

3 straight seasons without a first rounder is going to hurt |

Yotes paying half the freight, and the main chip Rags are giving up is a player drafted after the Flyers selected Z2. |

That's how it is right now. They could deal to get one in the future if they feel it's a problem. |

I like it more for Arizona. I like Yandle, but I could see Duclair being a 30 goal scorer, Moore is a big, nasty defenseman, could be a solid 4th guy and is only 24. Arizona only eating money for this year and next. |

The Rangers only have one 2nd rounder in the past couple years. If they gave up a 2nd rounder too, they'll only have one prospect from the first and second rounds over 3 drafts. |

You offset some of what they're eating by moving Summers, too

Mixed emotions, pretty obvious the team wants to shoot the 3 ball. Carter-Williams didn't show that much improvement in accuracy. Its a great trade, if the first rounder is this year. If not, Western Conference is pretty stacked, can't see the Lakers improving that much to be a playoff contender. Probably looking at a 1st rounder in next year's draft about the same place they drafted MCW. I understood the deal, I think he sold a little low actually.
Hinkie better pick the correct PG at the top of the draft this season, and obviously Embiid is going to make or break him. - ravishingone
solid analysis as always
thoughts on who you want in this year's draft? |

Didn't see this move coming. With the Rangers already Girardi, McDonough, Boyle and Staal on their blue line, looks like the Rangers are going all in. |

Summers is 27, taken in the same draft as Giroux. He's filler. |

I dont think the Flyers are going to contend for a few years, so I'm happy the current Rangers are taking away from the future Rangers. Same with the Pens. |

But again: They got Kevin Hayes for free
Stepan's an '08, Brassard's an '06, Kreider and JT Miller are both as young, or younger, as Couturier and Schenn
McDonagh's an '07 -- he's the same age as Jake
Their good players are as young as ours, or younger -- would you rather have Kreider or Baby Schenn?
The narrative that they can't withstand losing picks would only matter if they're old, which they most definitely are not |
