2 things that suprised me were :
1. Horton didnt have no trade, or he waved to go?
2. Players on LTIR are able to be traded...I am suprised there isn't more protection for seriously injured players... - bazookajo1
He probably doesnt care who signs his paycheque. I doubt he even moves.

I too work up and said did I really go on the infernet last night and find out the Leafs made Clarkson's contract disappear for nothing? I had a chubby. - Zezel
For the next week, "having a chubby" will be called "having a Nonis" |

As a 2nd pairing d-man, I could see a team like Det circling back at the 11th hour to try and grab Phaneuf. Unlikely, but possible.

Leafs would rather wait until offseason than take on bad contracts or eat money to move Kessel or Phaneuf. Some interest in Dion...

Uh OH ^^^
He loves to pretend he knew all along that Clarkson was moveable. And then make fun of people who said he was unmovable.

Yup, I actually feel good about this franchise for the first time this year...
...Why did they have to win last night and spoil that???
(Actually, (frank) the Flyers. I hate the flyers) |

Nothing to base it on really but I feel Dubas may have been the guy who thought of the Clarkson/Horton deal. Young fresh mind thinking outside box as they say |

The Blue Jackets called the Leafs and offered to swing that deal. |

Hey if you guys can get rid of Clarkson, I am thinking there may be a glimmer of hope we can get rid of Vinny |

Still say that Shanny gets credit for talking the Board into spending $ on someone who won't play. |

Nope, Horton is gone now and there really aren't any other small market teams with guys in similar positions |

The Clarkson trade...props to Nonis. Didn't think he would ever be able to get rid of that contract. You guys will just bury Clarkson on LTIR for the remainder of his deal Philly-Pronger-style while Columbus, a team that doesn't have a lot of money to spend on players, will at least pay Clarkson that money to play rather than pay Horton to sit at home. - rangerdanger94
Thanks for clarifying this for us.
The hundreds of posts before you, tried, and fell just short. I know we were all a little confused until the blessing of your wisdom was bestowed upon us.
