Well I decided to read the part of your thread where the Clarkson deal was broken and saw some suggestions right before the trade was broken that Hayes plus a pick would go for Bozak or Buchnevich plus a pick would go for Bozak...gotta tell you boys that if you're talking Buchnevich and a 2nd, you guys are giving us JVR. If you're talking Hayes, you're giving us Kadri and even then Sather probably tells you to go (frank) yourself.

Brassard has 11 more points in 2 less games than Bozak this year BTW and isn't playing with the best 40 goal scoring winger to never score 40 goals.

15 goals, and 20-25 points would have been the most we were gonna get outta clarkson, for 2.5 million it woulda been fine.

The Clarkson trade...props to Nonis. Didn't think he would ever be able to get rid of that contract. You guys will just bury Clarkson on LTIR for the remainder of his deal Philly-Pronger-style while Columbus, a team that doesn't have a lot of money to spend on players, will at least pay Clarkson that money to play rather than pay Horton to sit at home.

not at all..as soon as Columbus proposed the deal Nonis had them...Columbus was bleeding with that Horton deal as it was un insured...they simply do not have the money to pay a guy to not play...the Leafs can easily afford that ...there were few teams in the league that Columbus could approach that were cap teams with the ability to take that financial hit..Leafs were perfect...this was a brilliant trade for both GM's..
