He mentioned Detroit but he didn't suggest a return.

CBJ dosnt make $ hand over fist, they still have to sign Hortons pay check - so they get someone to actually lace me up for that money

And Toronto just magically frees up over 5.5m in cap space?

If that's true give Nonis a GM of the century award

I wonder how quick Clarkson signed off on the trade and was on a plane?!

I always argued Horton's deal was worse than Clarkson's.

because TOR is one of the few teams in the league that can do this.

Columbus is a have not, much like your Sens.

So wait...Hortons $ doesn't count towards the leafs cap? What about in off season?

If hortons contract doesn't effect leafs cap this is one of the greatest trades ever.

I don't understand why Columbus would agree to that

- SENS 613

Columbus WANTED Clarkson and made this trade happen, not the other way around. Nonis must have poop himself when Columbus called him and made that offer; he didn't really do anything, i don't know why leaf fans are praising him.

They cant afford to pay somone 5 mil to sit at home. The leafs can. Columbus isnt a cap team anyway. So everyone wins.

Yep...Pronger deal. So how does the cap relief work long term?
- Woderwick

in Pronger's case he's on the roster and against the CAP until the end of training camp when he is not able to take the ice.

then he goes LITR.

Praising Dave Nonis for this Clarkson deal is like praising a guy for doing a really great job of cleaning up after he puked on your floor.

How the Frank did we trade Clarkson?

Did we retain salary?

Is there something wrong with ice? Slowest laps i've ever seen by Zambonis, and they threw down more water than the aquatic show at the airport strip club just after Flashdance came out.

We would as fans, but if I was his boss I'd fire him for the needless buyouts + Clarkson's unofficial buyout. I usually stick up for Nonis on trades, but free agency, he's poop. Buyouts, he's poop.

I wonder how many teams they called first offering the same deal. Like LA for Richards.

I thought LTIR still required a % of that contract to count against the cap?

I still can't believe the leafs got rid of that contract
