maybe a looky loo into the rules and make a tweak into it? something has to come from it/
if not lets do it again - PinkSock
Ahhh, I see what you mean. Yeah it would not surprise mei if thy tweaked the rule so that cap relief from a LTIR can only be given to the team originally signing the contract? |

I cannot think of any possible reason to investigate. This is all above board. The rules are the rules. - Aetherial
And this was about as rare and unique a situation as you'd ever find. A non-cap team with an uninsured and horrifically injured big ticket contract. That's the only reason this went down. |

Well, he can't exactly come out and say "Well, Dave has really poop the bed here since day 1, so we moved him for capspace..."
Even though that's obvious... |

I see Luke's scratched again. Kind of sad. - mykokes
Not as sad as missing the playoffs 12 out of the past 13 seasons, but yes, it's sad. |

Toronto plays the same style I thought. Hopefully a change of scenery to a place where the fans and media don't have unrealistic expectations will be good for him. Columbus certainly could use a boost. Their forwards are awful, led by $6 plus million a season for Dubinsky. - TonyBazz
good points, whole thing boils down to $, similar to when the Leafs acquired Franson, Leafs can pay players not to play for them and coaches and buy outs, and take on non insured contracts (Lombardi) to be honest they should of been doing more of this |

He will play better. But still bad. Instead of the 1 million caliber player he was here he will be a 2.5 million caliber player in Columbus. |
