With all the acquired draft picks and cap space do they continue the rebuild or try and take a short cut and use their cap space on ufa's. the core is awful and still in tact but after seeing this i truly believe we will have no issues moving Kessel and Phaneuf. I hope these guys stay the course and dont go half assed on this rebuild.

Phaneufs already 30.. i wouldnt bank on it and kessel is turning 28. No point trade them for max value. Keep Kadri, Rielly, JVR ... wait till gardiner retains higher value then trade him.

People shouldn't be too hard on the Columbus GM, for making this deal. Columbus has an internal cap, and that money they were spending on a player on permanent LTIR, with no insurance, once spent, couldn't be spent again. In Clarkson, they got a player who can play, for money that was already spent.

This is ideal and I agree but if we keep our young core and you take into consideration the pieces we get for bozak,lupul,kessel,phaneuf we will be half rebuilt and they may lose their patience and go ufa crazy.
