Cbj wins the trade non cap wise, toronto wins the trade non cap wise. I'm a flyers fan so I understand the LTIR. clarkson cap will be on the team's cap until October 1 or whenever final roster is sent in. In the summer then can go 10 percent above cap without penalties. However the longer you keep a player on the LTIR the less money you can prorate on a player during trade deadline |

Clarkson for Horton?
What an absolute steal. Even if Horton never plays another game again, cap relief, sweet, sweet cap relief. |

Was getting tired of "if Gretzky can be traded, anybody can be traded". Now it reads, "if Clarkson can be traded......."

I can't believe a team that just traded for a player that probably will never play again won the trade but.... They did.

You are trying to downplay one of the shrewdest moves in hockey in recent memory...... won't work bud. - Mr_Smokey
What this also does with the cap space now is helping another team with a bad contract with futures thrown in.
For example, boston is in trouble needing to get better but no cap $. Maybe we can take a bad contract off there hands for a draft pick and/or prospects |
