A little Zigomanis for faceoffs and Frank D'Angelo commercials too would be useful.

And that's no bull!

Yes, but is thinking like Carlyle really something you should take pride in?
- Feeling Glucky?

Not as much Carlyle but more the sorry state that is the Leafs defence...

not if you appropriately age limit it.

major junior up to age 20... any college players on NCAA teams below 20.

different outcome.

that's not the same debate as to whether which is a better development league or which has better teams... I would hope a team of young guys who have been together for 2-3 years on college team, with the seniors being 21+ years old could manage to stay competitive with a team comprised of a few 19 and 20 year olds and mostly 17 and 18 year olds.

Lupul + Polak for Bickell and Chicago's 1st rounder. Thank you and Goodnight
- steve362

Remember, Lupul doesn't fit there, because of his $ and term...but Skinner fits.. Lol.

Chicago needs a goal scorer before or on Monday. Vermette wont cut it.

Again..I played CIS...some played CHL...most played junior B or C. The gap between junior B/C and CHL is massive.
- clark_griswold

The top ranked tier 2 teams like Spruce Grove could be sort of competitive in CHL, but smaller guys...

Agreed - I played OHL and CIS and Mem Cup Champ for sure. We played an exhibition game one year vs. Michigan State (circa Shawn Horcoff years)when I was in CIS...got out to an early 1-0 lead...9-1 final.

Major Junior guys are that extra bit hungry...

You're the first to actually cite experience in this debate, so you win. What Uni team were you on that killed Mich. State?
- 1979AD

LOL - other way around...we got an early lead (humble brag: I sniped)...then it was a gong show from there.

He's actually spent thousands of dollars with me trying to get his music on the radio. Mostly Sinatra covers, and almost no success whatsoever.

Toews, Parise, Keith, Kesler, Suter, Backes off the top of my head seem to do all right in the NHL battle test department as any CHL player
- PinkSock

I wasn't attempting to make an absolute 100% argument... hopefully that much should be obvious.

I think I might have said that not every player in one league is better than all the others.

Of course there are players that have come from both who are excellent.

But the base question remains the same... at age 18 (when they are drafted) in what way/fashion/manner are the development leagues different.

How long ago... its very different now.... more scholarships in Canada than the past... and players getting paid for doing "camps"

The AUS teams are very strong..... would beat almost all CHL teams...

come on... Italian heritage from Woodbridge back in the day... with all the overblown macho stuff that came out of that geography... you can't even blame him for that...

that truly was a cultural phenomena... (I'm not saying it was a good one - just that it was one).

Trans-ams, Camaros, the carry over of John Travolta and the disco wave...

it was actually somewhat tragic to observe the clothes and behaviors that came out of that.

Sure

Only thing the CIS is missing is the 'Star player' today. Its where guys go after their junior career who cant make it... I know lots of guys who played both leagues and while you'll get the flashy stars out of the CHL, the overall hockey is better in the CIS...

Men vs. Boys.

Jagr nets a 2nd and 3rd, talk about getting something for nothing, New Jersey just won the deadline.
