Coyotes are getting the franchise saver. I would bet Morgan Rielly vs. Elias Lindholm on it. - 1979AD
Why would Arizona get McDavid? They'd just end up in Hamilton in 3 years |

unfortunately I believe you are 100% correct. |

no the American hockey hype machine go to him. - BorjeFan4Ever
the only reason why it's not perceived as a close race for #1 pick in draft is bc Eichel is American and not Canadian.
and I absolutely dislike any type of American hype machines.. (hockey related or in other fields..) |

The Toronto #MapleLeafs are +250 to trade away Phil Kessel before the #NHL trade deadline. He's -400 to stay a Leaf. |

Kid is averaging 1.6 points per game, against older players.. McDavid or Eichel.. How do we get one? - PatC80
McDavid is averaging 2.6 ppg in the OHL.... I wonder what the comparison is between the leagues. How would the Memorial Cup winner fare against the NCAA champ? |

Fortunate for me. Never believed the Leafs would win it and the idea Edmonton or Buffalo getting McDavid is sickening. |

The idea would be that McDavid prevents them from ending up in Hamilton in 3 years. Bettman has put so much blood/sweat/tears/money into keeping that franchise there, it's seems logical that if he could fix the lottery in their favour, he would. |

In the NCAA, there are quite a few 21-22 year old players.. Eichel is only 18.
Don't get me wrong, I think McDavid is gonna be better, but Eichel is not far behind |

Yeah, and their 4 fans may start a rally to try and save the team. |

You might be on to something. In 2007 Central Scouting ranks going into the draft were:
1. Turris
2. Kane
3. JVR |

The question is would you either want Toews (Eichel) or McDavid (Tavares) as your #1 Franchise Center..
No clear answer to that; I personally would take Toews though. |

Yeah, but older players don't necessarily mean better hockey. There are lots of 22 year olds playing in the CIAU. |

Roughly the same as Crosby, who averaged 2.7 ppg his last year in Rimouski. He then came to the NHL and put up 102 pts as an 18 year old. |

Both Canadian. Doesn't work.
I'd take both over Jvr, Kessel and Kane though. |

Lets not forget though that the Q is a weaker league.
I wonder what Crosby's totals would have been in the OHL. |

That's not a good comparison.
More like Ovechkin vs. Malkin. |

Reminds me of Lindros vs Kariya.
Or what that would've been had Kariya not been a small player. Kariya was amazing, that concussion turned him from Hart Trophy Candidate to just a star player. |

Probably still good, but not 180 point scoring pace good. |
