That an excuse people use, dogs or any animal can turn on people at any time without warning or provocation. Do you blame all people that kill on the parents? - LeafMan
Any living thing can do that. But generally if a dog is violent, it's the way it was raised. Properly raised German Shepherds are as calm as can be. My jack Russell and my parent's husky are far more terrifying than she ever was. |

While your statement is accurate for the most part, certain breeds are more predisposed to attacking than others. - hscesq
The answer was so good, repeat it and thanks Howard, some will defend no matter what. |

True...I will agree with that. But I still think there is an element to bringing up these aggressive breeds that mitigate the risk of them lashing out or attacking anyone.
Not saying you don't agree FYI...just reread that and I didn't want it to come across like that. |

I agree.
However, there usually is a reason for an attack.
Whether it be upbringing, trained queues, history etc. |

Working German shepherds are bred to be more aggressive, but that's not the type of German shepherd most people own. The gsds bred for homes are a lot more placid.
Comparing them to pit bulls in that sense is ridiculous. |

You're right, some are trained as guard/attack dogs.
But again, that's the training. |

Tell me where I compared them to German Shepherds. Go ahead.
I'm not arguing with you. You have a bias in this regard, and that's more than fine. I'm not chastising you in the least.
You're just wrong. |

That's one reason they may attack, yes. Another reason may be because it's Tuesday. |
