Then you've got two options:

a) Hope Murray has a plan B

b) Start praying real hard your football team turns it around

- Sabresfan-365

Plan B: Murry gets a worse treatment than Darcy as he exits especially if Darcy gets Mcdavid and

B:As long as Brady is in the division all teams play for the wildcard

I can't believe how far the #2 pick in last years draft has fallen already.

He will be a #1 center in this league even with McEichel.

It's just the hope of having 2 #1 centers on this team that has clouded some's judgement IMO.

- dadeadhead

He hasn't fallen at all. McEichel has nothing to do with Reinhart its about this particular season. If you've got a real shot at a generational talent why throw it away?

Cause they can't believe Clarkson is off the books.

I'd guess that quiets the Kessel and Phaneuf trade rumors. They got a great cap relief in this trade.

- dadeadhead

They are counting on Phaneuf and Kessel next .

Last year was a weaker high end draft. Like saying Ryan nugent Hopkins is a #1 like malkin. Good player but if you are putting Reinhart out as a#1 he will have the same results as him. Maybe you don't mind but a 50-60 pt scorer on a losing team isn't my idea as a #1 center

TM has put a team together that IMO is fvcking awful.

The players are playing for pride at this point and you can't force them to lose on purpose.

And it really comes down to goaltending, our goalies are stealing to many games.

Pegula will have to buy players if we miss out on the pick.

The UFA's are trying a little harder, big surprise considering deadline day is roughly 100 hours away.

I can't believe the panic that has set in as we still hold down the 30th spot. Like it's one thing if it was game 80 and we just beat the oilers but c'mon

Reinhart will be much more than a 50-60 point getter.

Bruins and Kings agree with you.
- BigStew

They had studs all over those teams though. Tim Thomans was breaking records left and right and Quick was a living wall.

Both teams had boatloads of talent and studs, but more than often their coaches mishandled those teams. The kings had no excuse to start that post season in 8th other than poor play and bad coaching, but then they flipped the switch. The bruins, out muscled every team they played, which was a design change once Claude Julian realized he didn't have a number one so he played to their strengths and won

The sabres are far from having the muscle and handful of studs either #1less center team had for those cups

He's got the tools, but his skating and strength are still an issue. You're probably right but i'd put his odds at 65%/35% for being better than a 60 pt centre. As in I think he'll be better than that but it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't (offensively).

I guess it goes to show some that Enroth/Neuvirth were better than they wanted to admit.

Neither team had generational players drafted, their GMs did a very good job via free agency and trades. We should be able to do the same, having said that McEichel makes it a hell of a lot easier to challenge every year.

He won't if he's our #1 center and best player. I would bet the over if we get mcheichel but not if he is our #1 go to guy

Hate to admit it. could have been the same outcome with Miller in net for them. Prolly not but a good chance. I think the team played pretty decent when they shouldn't have.

Bostons #1 and 2 centers were both drafted in the 2nd rd.

LA's #1 and 2 centers were drafted in the latter half of the 1st rd.

But there is no way Reinhart drafted 2nd overall can lead a team to a cup.

They had stud players though. Doughty and kopitar along with high pick players they moved for carter and Richards. Boston had chara at the absolute top along with seguin as there number 3 center. We don't have any of that top talent. Reinhart *may* be a kopitar in 4 years but we won't have all that other talent. Both those teams also had elite goaltending that year not just good

You do know Kopitar wasn't a top ten pick right? He wasn't even the 2nd center taken in that draft.

Serious question.

Of course. They were loaded though. Quick and doughty were the best at their positions, carter Richards Williams brown. Loaded. We would need a lot of things going right for us. every prospect better turn out

Carter, Richards, Gaborik, Williams all trade for.

Shall I go on?

Just keep the faith man, it isn't all doom and gloom.
