Myers got criticized routinely for being dumb or taking stupid penalties. Bogosian has done the same.

IMO it's more that Bogo and Myers are hung out to dry on this team rather than them being bad or stupid players.

Being in Bogosian or Myers spot on this team is the 2nd hardest job outside of Nuevirths

- sbroads24

Bogosian will get criticized for the penalties soon enough...as soon as the shine wears off the new toy.

Dalpe and Varone recalled up.

I like it. I'd prefer to leave some of the younger guys down there for now. Then again, with Armia gone I don't think we have any healthy top 6 forward talent to call up.

This is why I am not worried about losing out on last place. As long as Murray/Nolan keep calling up the "Nolan guys", this team won't leave last place.

Nolan guys? Come on, take off the tin hat. Who else exactly are we going to call up here?

Few Murray quotes, food for thought

The Sabres' GM also noted that the team would "like to move forward with upcoming RFA Tim Schaller. The 24 year old made his debut this season and has 38 points in 53 games

Regarding the recent call up of Mark Pysyk, Murray said he has been impressed with the former first round pick's progress.

"We have high expectations," he said.

Clearly the team is high on Schaller and Pysyk. Unless Pysyk is netting us something much bigger and better, looks like he's staying put. Good. Kid's under rated.

I said that forgetting that Grigorenko was still hurt.

Yes

Dupuy has checking line talent. Could be useful here in a few years. We signed Dupuy as a FA. We got D'Amigo for Adam.

in reality the better call up if we were in the hunt would be Schaller or Reinhart..

Can't call Reinhart up. Not without activating his deal. Pass. Even if we were in the hunt.

I think Schaller is the guy that is going to give someone like Flynn a run for his money next year

Yes they will.

I'm not sure if he's any good. He was signed as an undrafted FA in November 2014. Up until this season he had played in 140 games and had 33 points. He has played 45 games and has 37 points this season.

Jerry D'Amigo is who they got for Adam.

between Schaller, Flynn, Larsson and Deslauriers, the sabres should have a 4th line for years that rivals the Islanders

now get Ellis, Kaleta and McCormick off this roster in 2015-16

What's the rule preventing that? I thought it was after the trade deadline that you weren't allowed to make roster transactions unless it was deemed emergency.

Going out on a limb here but a Deslauriers/Foligno/Flynn 3rd line when the team is competing would be fun to watch.

Dalpe is having a pretty decent season. He scored last night. I don't think he'll ever be an NHLer, but a career AHLer that can fill in on an NHL team in a pinch from time to time.

The rule preventing that is the same rule that has been in place for a long time now. Once you send a player back to Jrs he must stay there until his teams Jr season is over with. Said player may then be assigned to his NHL or AHL team. Since he's played 9 games. I'd bet everything I own there is zero chance he plays for Buffalo the remainder of the season.

There was a rule for emergency call ups for CHL players but I believe they 86'd it. I remember the Sabres did that to Marty Biron way back when.
