Reygher(sp), McBain, Sekera, and McNabb

and I personally hated the 2 2nds and McNabb for former 3rd and 4th round picks

- Mentalorgasm5

I don't worry about where guys were picked, its what they become. We never used McNabb properly anyway IMO. I think D-Lo is the perfect 4th liner on a GOOD team and you need 4 lines IMO, and Fasching has pretty high upside.

It was pretty epic. I'll admit, I started it. I had had enough. It was a ton of fun though.

Did you start it and skate away like Claude Giroux or stick around for the battle.

I don't want Wiz here if that's what you mean. He's injured too frequently and on the wrong side of 30 IMO.
- HonkFortheGoose

I was going by that his list is:

Teams with NO cap room
and don't need a offensive D man.

All teams with room and needs are off it.

I'm not saying I don't like the trades either. In fact, I do like them both. However, the fact is, he gave up a lot for both players, no matter how you slice it.
- buffalofan19

Armia, 22 year old former 1st rounder still trying to thrive in the AHL, Lemieux will be a nice 3rd line player in 2-3 years in the NHL, Stafford, whatever, see ya. Myers, I wasn't a huge fan with how he played in his own end. If you look at how Bogosian will improve the D and still have some offensive skill I think there might be some + there. The Sabres do lose a late 1st round pick too. But you don't get dynamic, skilled players like Kane for cheap and they have two other 1st round picks.

Liked what I saw out of him in the WJC this year. He knows what role he's best suited for and he embraces it.

Maybe we have different knives. I consider Myers-Bogosian to be a wash, different players but I don't think one is much better than the other.

Stafford was gone anyway so from there is basically a late 1st, Armia and Lemieux for Kane. Idk if I'd consider that "a lot". Its certainly not nothing, and when the trade was announced my first thought was wow that's a lot. Now after letting it sink in, I'm not sure it really is.

- Homer

It certainly wasnt a steal. Still love It. He wanted big, tough to play against, and athletic and he got it. its honestly great. The only thing he can do wrong is not walk away from this draft with eichel or mcdavid.

I was around for the battle. May have left before it was completely finished, but I saw most of it through.

Bogosian has had a history of being as inconsistent as Myers has been. He's far from a lock to "make this defense better". I'm not saying he won't, just that it's far from a guarantee.

Other than Boston, it seems like the rest of them are looking for Defense, and I don't think we can afford to give any up at this point. There's just not much depth behind the guys currently ready to make the jump from Rochester.
- HonkFortheGoose

I think Calgary has interest in Stewart and Anaheim might be looking at Meszaros.

He gave up more than just about anyone would for a player like Hudson Fasching.

He gave up a ton to land Evander Kane and Zach Bogosian. He absolutely has to be right about these guys.

- buffalofan19

I really like the Kane & Bogosian trade

I hated the Fasching trade when it happened. I like McNabb & it baffled me why he wasn't playing on the Sabres... Yet he's good enough to play on the Cup champs defense, ugh
However, Fasching's skating has apparently improved quite a bit, which is great news. I was looking for more of a jump in production this year though. He's def going back to College next year.
Jury is far from out on him though

I still think Stewart to Boston makes more sense. I really don't think Calgary will make the playoffs and giving up what IMO will likely be a 2nd for Stewart isn't worth it from their side.

If anybody wants Meszaros I'll drive him to the airport.

If these teams are looking at guys like Meszaros on D, then I'm fine with it. But I'd rather not give up anyone other than him, Benoit, or Strachan at this point.

Quantity for Quality. Still yet to be seen but looks good so far as you can judge based on all playing .

He's actually been playing much better with a stud like Bogosian as his partner.

Benoit has been Bogosian's partner. Meszaros has been with Pysyk the last 2 games.

Well, we'll see he has tightened up the Sabres D when he has played his 25-30 mins so far, completed his outlet passes which has pissed me off to be honest because it has hurt the damn tank

Obviously TM liked him more than the other guy we dealt

That's weird because I think they interviewed Mez on the post-game yesterday and asked him about having Bogo as a partner.
