If that were the case, they would have fired him before 2013-2014 began. They fired him because they had a PR nightmare on their hands, and it's exactly why guys like LaFontaine and Nolan were brought here.
- buffalofan19

Ironically they gave birth to TM being our GM and now both of those guys will be gone.

Carrier looks pretty slick. Could be a nice piece here in a year or two.

TM likes to deal assets..Darcy produced 80% of this team's assets etc.

No problem, it's all good

- GilPerreault11

So can you explain how that equates to me wanting Regier back?

I'd love to have Enroth back. Especially if he wants to be here. How on Earth it reminds him of Sweden I have no clue.

Lets just hope the guys he really likes are good ones...

He gave up more than just about anyone would for a player like Hudson Fasching.

He gave up a ton to land Evander Kane and Zach Bogosian. He absolutely has to be right about these guys.

Neither statement is false though.

Regier's plan was to tank, and it was put in motion the day Pominville and Gaustad were traded.

Murray has shown that he is willing to pay a steep price to get the guy or guys he really wants.

- buffalofan19

I agree, but is he willing to pay a steep price or is he willing to pay Darcy trash, players he doesn't like?

Did you see the real nice steal he had in the offensive zone during the 1st?

He gave up three (actually four if you include Stafford) first round draft picks and a second. That's a steep price, no matter how you cut it, whether they were Darcy Regier's draft picks or Ken Holland's draft picks.

Oh I agree, but when "a while" comes around, and at least 3 of those four don't end up being championship caliber players, his tenure will be a failure.

I never said you wanted him back but you have been anti TM since the Myers trade and started out by saying he likes to trade "assets" in a negative tone/way.

Don't worry about, it is now clear you do not want Darcy back. My bad.

Bottom line is this: if you are risk averse, you probably don't like the Evander Kane trade. If you're not, you're probably more than okay with it. It has nothing to do with like Darcy more than Tim Murray or vice versa.

Murray: Wednesday was the busiest since the Kane trade. Speaking with WGR and the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, he said he received 3 or 4 phone calls from teams regarding trades. The Sabres GM also noted he would like to move forward with upcoming RFA Tim Schaller. He's also been impressed with Mark Pysyk. "We have high expectations".

Courtesy WGR.

I wonder if one of those teams calling was the Bruins.

Disagree on both comments, and as most people know I was a big McNabb fan.

I love the Kane deal, the other one I'm ok with, wont say love it, but don't hate it either.

Could be hard to judge on what they bring to the teams. I'm pretty neutral on yes and no of the trade. Just letting it flow.

I think kane will grow on people next year. I would have liked to have kept armia, but when kane was armia's age he scored 30.

I'm not saying I don't like the trades either. In fact, I do like them both. However, the fact is, he gave up a lot for both players, no matter how you slice it.

Ok, last time I promise!

Darcy's plan in his last year was the suffering comment - correct! But who put the organization in that position!
