Downie Lap Bennett

Spaling/Bennett interchangeable I guess...

There's no way you play Bennett on the 4th line. I'd put him on the 3rd and leave him there. Also I like Downie on the 3rd line as well. I feel like him and Lapierre together don't accomplish much.

HAHAH Love it!

We are definitely on opposite sides of the fence when it comes to BB, but he has played like shyyyytteee lately so I cant even try to defend him. If another trade is made, I feel like he will certainly be a part of it.

IDK, Rust, Farnham, Gibbons, Megna, Vitale, whoever else were the F call ups the past 2 seasons, did they were a sweater and take a roster spot, yeah....but are they useful in anyway and able to contribute at any level in the NHL? no. I don't think any of those guys are even in the NHL anymore. So no I think the WB team has been largely ineffective as to help out the Pens and develop NHL talent. Its fair to say the Pens farm system has been a failure recently.
- sammy87

Thanks for making my point completely.

You trade aways prospects or in this case more picks...and this is the garbage that you have in your farm system, so when an injury occurs you get Zach Sill or any of the names you mentioned...but yeah who cares about until its time to female dog about it when injuries, mumps, rapes, stubbed toes, and divorces occur next season.

Downie and Lap is just really redundant... also way too much stupid penalty chance if together. Unless Downie then plays real hockey and lets Lap be the dumbass.

FWIW... Pens are scouting the NJ game tonight. Not sure of how much cap we have now, but #jagrwatch in full effect. If Winnik can play center for us.. Sutter for Jagr + a pick if we can get one out of them..
- znagle

That's what I am hoping.

I would rather have all the risk on one line than spread it around over split time.

Perron - Crosby - Hornqvist
Kunitz - Malkin - Comeau
Downie/Winnik - Spaling - BB
Downie/Winnik - Lappy - Adams

I like this lineup. And if they replace Adams with any callup from WBS, Ill like it even more.

Bennett doesn't carry much cap hit though, ~$900k.

BTW, my friend that I had talked to you about previously who also went to Thailand just got back from 3 months in India. Sorry to break it to you, but no strip clubs there according to him. Apparently prostitution is legal, but it can't be organized in a brothel style setup. Really a strange stance to take.

Elias yo. Just to see him wearing the bird. He could join LeClair in the small but potent 'fans of rivals aghast' hall of fame.

BASH BROS. But yeah I see BB on third line, maybe Sutter+BB for Jagr+Zidlicky. No clue about cap, but they can easily retain plus give picks back.

Bennett should not be traded for any rental.... However Sutter for Jagr + Gomez would be intriguing.

As long as it involves Sutter leaving I'd probably be happy with the trade.

That's why i don't want to go to India. Thailand has everything i need, and lots that i don't. But it's all good.

That's exactly what I was thinking as a possibility. That would truly be all the way in. But I think the lineup would be stacked.

This has to put the writing on the wall for Sutter or Spaling. How many 3c's can this team possibly need? The only other explanation is GMJR has a fascination with them akin to when GMRS traded for every available former captain.

haha nah, the only assets a GM has at their disposal, are players and picks.

The Jets only gave up two lesser assets for a better player.

Idk, if he really wanted to move either of them, especially Sutter, I would think it would have already happened. Winnik is more of a LW than C too.

Ok - first he failed to mention Kap and Sundqvist who would be the most likely two to be called up to the team. We traded a 4th in the upcoming draft and a 2nd in the 2016 draft. If we are injured next year you're expecting that 4th round pick to be our savior? The following year 2016 (as of now) we still have the first round pick. I would like to see the Pens pickup better depth players in the off-season (Comeau types), but this move does little to hurt their future. The 2nd in 2016 is the only thing of any value, and it will likely be a late in that round. We've got Malkin and Crosby in their prime with Fleury and Letang playing very well - let's go for it while we can and focus on improving depth for next year in the offseason. This trade certainly isn't a huge impact on their farm system. They need to get to a point where they're not trading away a good number of their picks, but JR has made solid moves so far.

And of course... the Penguins annoucment of this on facebook... so many stupid comments.

Best I saw was someone legit believing Sill is a better player, and Toronto owes us a mid round pick with Winnik for Sill.
