Didn't we trade 2 2nds for the corpse formerly known as Pavel Kubina?

Kubina:
The Flyers traded a conditional second round pick they had originally acquired from Florida in a trade for Kris Versteeg, and also a fourth-rounder in 2013 to land the veteran defenseman.
The Panthers hold the option on whether the second round pick can be used this year or in 2013. The Lightning also acquired minor league left winger Jon Kalinski in the deal.
Grossmann:
Going to the Stars are a second-round pick in 2012 that the Flyers acquired from the Los Angeles Kings in last summer's Mike Richards deal and a third-round pick in 2013 that they got from Minnesota for Darroll Powe last June.

I'm surprised the Sixers don't just put together a roster of draft picks. And I don't mean players chosen with draft picks, I mean actually make the starting center their lowest 2015 1st round pick and so on.

They are such a joke franchise.

Nope. When you say top-pair, you obviously mean league-wide.

Obviously.

- tangent_man

I was actually going for all time greatest top pair d-men.

I think it would be smart to make a play for either of those guys. I don't think they would cost too much and they add skill and speed. Burmistrov is a RFA so I bet you could find out if he definitely wants to be back before making a play for him.

Tikhonov is probably chasing after a top-9 spot, first and foremost... I believe he'd look great w/ Coots and Read.

He was agreeing with a poster whereas your post seemed somewhat confrontational.

I like both for on that line. Also both guys play a 200 ft game so you also can use them against top lines still. So your not losing the defense that that line brings.

Yeah, confrontational was perhaps the wrong word. Regardless, I shouldn't have stepped in this as BiggE can speak for himself. My bad.

I don't even bother any more, it's just not worth my time.

Yup, his dad was an assistant for the Sharks for a few years, too. No excuse for him not to understand the game.

Dan Kordic would have been a very solid bottom pairing guy if he didn't blow out his knee. he had a good rookie year as a dman. he was your typical botttom pairing tough guy dman.

That guy could throw em and take a punch with the best of them.

“This species is named after the acrobatic goaltender for the Finnish National ice hockey team and the Boston Bruins, whose glove hand is as tenacious as the raptorial fore tarsus of this dryinid species,”

Fantastic.

Haha. True.

I was watching an old Canada Cup game a few weeks back. I think it was from 1981. The Soviet team beat Canada at the Forum in Montreal 8-0. That Canadian team had 20 hockey hall of famers on it. How is this even possible?

He did evolve into a legit heavyweight in the 90's in the heyday of The Dan Line. I didn't follow the Flyers heavily back then, but he had severe mobility problems early on before any injuries. Was just never very good (from what I remember) at hockey aside from being able to fight.
