After looking at both ours and Boston's remaining schedule, its obvious that they need 4 points in the next 2 games if they are going to have any chance of making the playoffs. |

If the flyers win the next two and Boston loses tonight, we could find ourselves tied for a the final wildcard spot. Florida plays Chicago tonight and on Thursday. Perfect opportunity to try and gain some more ground. This is a big week, though they are all big at this point. |

I think they have to win all 3 going into the TDL. Beating the Canes and the FN Leafs are crucial but beating the Rags on Saturday would be a huge momentum swing for this team as they have struggled to beat those (frank)ers |

Absolutely, going into the deadline with 69 pts in 63 games would be fantastic, especially considering where they were a month ago. |

If you looked at the schedule this time last week with Columbus and Buffalo during the week, and Nashville and Washington on the weekend, which two games would've been the must wins? After the first two games, it was declared no way in hell are they making the playoffs. We can look at the schedule all we want. Every game is a must win from here on out, or at least that's what the mentality needs to be. This thing is likely going down to the wire, unless they go in another slump.

Rinaldo brings nothing to the table other then a target on his back. i would play vinny over him and bench mcdonald for L schenn. i hate mcdonalds soft ass game if he didnt cry to the media about not playing his ass would still be on the bench and should be. |

If Schenn continues to be in press box suite come TDL. I wonder if he is moved and if his value goes down due to the fact he has been a popcorn muncher on a team struggling to make playoffs
With Kimmo coming back someone should be moved |

I think, due to cap reasons, someone either has to be moved or both CC and Rinaldo would have to be waived. My guess, and lord knows it's only a guess, is that Grossmann gets moved. At this point, he has more value than Luke.

I agree Grossmann would have more value and with Timmo back if Luke is inserted..hopefully the all round Dgame would improve and wouldn't be much of a drop off without Grossmann.
Cc and Retardo should continue careers in ECHL |

With how great we played over the weekend, we better freaking win this game. I pray that Jake and G start to turn it up again because that is beyond crucial for us in the next few weeks. Hope the Wayne Train keeps on going too. Hopefully our 5 v 5 play is good tonight because CAR has one heck of a PK |

And to think that just a few weeks ago I was told it was virtually impossible for the Flyers to make up ground and be a playoff contender. |

The question is: who sits when Timonen returns? At first, I think you dress 7 D for a game or 2 and make sure he is really ready to go under game conditions, but then it gets interesting. My gut says you scratch Luke, but that does leave you with a very small D corps as Timonen, Streit, MDZ and AMac are all under 200 lbs and none bring much of a physical element. The other option is scratching the 30 million dollar man.
So basically, IMO, the choice is:
Timonen-Coburn
Schultz-Streit
MDZ-AMac
or
Timonen-Coburn
Schultz-Streit
MDZ-Luke
decisions, decisions...

Agreed. Even though the next two games are against awful opposition, winning on the road with your #3 and #4 goaltenders isn't going to be easy. |

Honestly it was, and the odds are still stacked against them. If boston picks up 26 points in their last 23 games, which is not an unreasonable expectation, that would give them 93 points. Considering their advantage in Reg/OT wins, that means the Flyers would need 94 points to get in.
So, basically, the Flyers need to go something like 14-5-3 to finish the season. Impossible? No. Improbable? Yeah.
