allegedly, he's been doing better work lately. I'm skeptical, but I do recall he was solid when he first hit the scene. - BulliesPhan87
He certainly had potential. I hope he's coming around and leaving the Tim/Sam influence behind. |

Frank has been much better this season. Even when i have disagreed with his columns, he's usually provided a decent argument and food for thought. - Jsaquella
I'll takes yous guys word for it then and upgrade him to probation status. |

They've always had trouble putting pucks in the net even when they were going to the finals. This is just beyond anything I envisioned when the calendar turned. I imagined them moving up the standings, not opening themselves up to being on the outside looking in.
I wonder if Chiarelli is willing to move a piece to fill that center slot? - mayorofangrytown
They were supposedly looking for D help before the Krejci news. Knowing how their game can sometimes come off the rails without him, it has to be a consideration for him. |

The change to going back to that may have happened when he attended things other reporters didn't and wanted to use quotes from those events and Frank took issue with it. - ob18
I hadn't heard that one. That might explain it.

I have to say, I'm disappointed the Flyers did nothing more to send a message to Rinaldo. He was scratched two games, but pretty much the second they found somewhere to plug him in they made the move and got him back in the line up. Maybe I've missed something, but his play hasn't exactly forced Rube's hand, either.
Aside from a little lip service, there was no visible message sent to the player. - BulliesPhan87
I honestly think the best thing for Rinaldo at this point is to go down to the AHL, and find his game. We know he can skate and play physically. In my view in order to be a more valuable player, he needs to find other ways to contribute. In the AHL he can work on his discipline, his play away from the puck, and even play on the PK. He'll get more icetime down there also, in the hopes that he can move forward as a player. I think Terry Murray can help him with those things, and it also sends a message to him that he needs to improve.

Think it was a game from Lightning to the Panthers and some took the early flight to make the morning skate other didn't but complained when the team didn't release stuff used from talking to the coaches and players because Frank said they should have took an earlier flight to be there for it.
I could be wrong. |

None of those guys are on the roster right now, aside from Colaiacovo. The ball's in Hextall's court at the moment. - BulliesPhan87
Luke Schenn is not on the roster?
Christ, just dress 7 D, Luke can chip in on the pk or when a game gets chippy, while Voracek, Raffl, Read, and Simmonds can all take an occasional shift with VDV and PEB. There's no way you're gonna convince me that its better to have an idiot like Rinaldo or the shell that is VLC in the lineup instead. |

They might have to move D now that they're relatively healthy to rent a center. You can probably envision making one more run with McQuaid, Siedenberg and Chara. Losing Boychuk really hurt them but they have some young D that might fetch a rental, then it's time to retool that back end. |

Not a crime to go into the AHL and improve your game
Rinaldo can is a plus-skater and hitter. He has courage. Those things are great starting points. He could make himself a better player
But I just couldn't put a guy on the ice who, at any second, might take a 2-5-10 -- and you aren't stunned when it happens

Schenn, Cola, it's still option 2. Laughton, Straka, et al aren't here, so Berube can't make those decision.

That's the thing, you can't trust Rinaldo. Even ignoring that the refs seem to have an even tighter leash now, he's always prone to making a dumb play or taking a dumb penalty. |

The B's cap situation is every bit as much of a mess as the Flyers' situation, and here's the thing: Krecji is supposed to be back before the playoffs start. So, its not like they can just make a move and worry about the salary consequences after the season. They have to worry about it in the first or second week of April.
If there were only 8 teams that could've swallowed Mike Richards' deal without moving salary out, what are the chances of the Flyers or Bruins being able to make a worthwhile deal to shed salary without taking on a bad contract in return? |
