Meh Beaulieu is the only potential top 4 D in the system.

A smallish, inconsistant one-dimensionnal player like Yakupov...

- Fredobface

ok but potential top-4 D vs. potential 35-goal RW...

i think if Yakupov is available, Bergevin would make a significant pitch for him.

of course he would.

I really don't like Yak's steady decline in the last 3 years.

the question is though... is Beaulieu more than a potential top-4? we traded McDonagh at the same age and look what he turned into. he and Beaulieu have similar skills sets.

Yakupov clearly has more upside, anyone denying that is a fool.

But as for the chances of player realizing said upside, I think Beaulieu is the safer bet as of today..... especially when there's always the possibility, even if it's been denied before, of Yakupov leaving for the KHL if things don't work out fast enough for him in the NHL.

the true punishment isn't the ban, it's that I know have to see the ad block warning every 30 seconds.

any way to block that? pop-up blocker or something?

yes Marty that makes me stupid. on a team that can't score i would like to add a player than can score. that's the dumbest logic ever.

He has the skillset to be a very good player for a long time.

It's his first season in the NHL and he's already improved considerably in the last 20 or so games.

Beaulieu will most likely be in the top 2 at some point. He was not close to the top 4 in october.
