I doubt the panthers would have to include a first if they are taking Robidas and his terrible deal. On the face of this rumor it would appear it's a huge fleecing of the Panthers even tho kessel is the top player (right now) in the deal. Willing to bet this source is from TO and perhaps this was the offer pitched to Florida. If so, then their GM would do the right thing and just sit on this to see if toronto starts to sweeten it, which could happen if they think they are getting Huberdeau and a first for kessel.

Doesn't make much sense for Florida at this point imo

it's the perfect fit for Kessel. i think it's a bit much to give up on Florida's end, personally, unless the pick is conditional (first if they make it, second if they miss). the value is there at present. if you're Florida though, long term, this is a risky move.

Maybe it is. There's way more deals tossed around than us general public would ever know about. I just don't see why a top notch GM like Tallon would do that considering the club he's building. And it's going to be a really good one in Florida in the next couple years

Hextall has said he will not make any deals for a playoff push. especially if it depletes youth and our future. which Yandle would command. Even our 1st perhaps.

As much as I don't want Kessel in the same division as the leafs I have to say Florida is probably the best place for him, no media, no fans, just go play hockey and make your millions in peace.
