But the thing about it is we don't know what's going on in the locker room. Crawford has not been the same since he came back from that problem. He doesn't look comfortable. It's possible he is getting the cold shoulder from his teammates for the incident. I do think there is a lot more going on that we just don't know. And maybe we never will.

People complain (whine) that this board isn't fun anymore then drive others off because they disagree with a trade proposal, but can't do so in a way that isn't ugly and personal. And the first one who tries to say I've called someone an idiot (the typical response of 1-2 people) can come back and show me where I did, after your vacation.

About time, everyone has a differernce of opinion and as Fans of one of the best teams in the NHL we can all get frusturated at times, but the need to attack someone personally is beyond me. I would not openly suggest it - but if another GM wants to ridiculously overpay for an aging and overplayed d-man - if I were Bowman - I would be listening.

I am saying Stan has to see what he can get for him. He is a high-mileage player, and if you can get a younger version of him, you have to seriously think about it. There are only so many Hossa's, Jagr's, and Selanne's in the world.

Did Detroit ever listen to offers for him? We don't know. A good GM should be looking to make his team better. What is wrong to see what Keith can bring in a trade?

First, Keith is 31 and isn't so overtly physical that you have to worry about him wearing down. You should also watch some of the videos or read some of the blogs from the training and conditioning staff.

Second, defensemen take a little longer to develop than forwards, and it's extremely hard to picture many young guys being Keith levels. Ekblad? OEL? Nurse?

Third, most of the teams with those kids with that level of potential are in rebuilding stages. The younger guy fits for them better.

And no. I don't believe the GM of the Wings ever listened to what was offfered for Lidstrom. These are the tpes of players you don't move. Well, unless you need the money like Pocklinton did when he traded Gretxky.

The Wirtz and Wings' owner are fine in that regard.

I think OEL is already close to that level. IMO, hes a top 5-6 dman in the league. Not as good as Keith, but man is that kid great. He plays for anyone other than PHO and we are looking at a perennial Norris trophy candidate.

Agree completely with your assessment of Keith.

You can always tell the noob hockey fans: As soon as something goes wrong, they go after the goalie.

While I think Crow is probably slightly overpaid, I really wish fixing the Hawks was as simple as saving $1-2MM per year on Crawford's contract. That's the least of their problems.

Regrettably, no.

Fully expect a hawk beat down tomorrow. Really no there cards left to play. Had the circus of a closed door and gm meeting immediately after a game. Had the ole 1 on 1 battle angry q practice today. Had more guys spew on past experience and needing to play better.

So if they lay another stinker to uncle dales collection of castoffs...well...this is going to escalate quickly.
