I'm with ya when it comes to Rundblad.. Although I do think he gets a lot of unwarranted blame for this team's struggles...

And I have no explanation for the numbers lol. I leave that to LBR

- CBHawks88

Leddy's zone starts and match ups I'd wager are dramatically more challenging than Rundblad's. That said, he's just one symptom, not the problem.

I hear Boychuck is asking for $6M, if Leddy asks for an outrageous amount and should they get it, the Howling for Leddy will change as Hawk posters laugh at the Islanders.

Good old number...what number was Nick again?

US says hi to you too JJ...ok not really, just being neighborly.

Here's the real joke. NO ONE cares beyond his dwindling "fan club." And so ...

As a Hawk Leddy was one of the most sheltered Dmen in the league, While many think it was Runblad's zone start that were being shelered with Keith, it was Oduya who was being sheltered.

Don't really care but was just pointing that out. One is gone and soon the other will be. Which is great.

You can always tell the noob hockey fans: As soon as something goes wrong, they go after the goalie.

While I think Crow is probably slightly overpaid, I really wish fixing the Hawks was as simple as saving $1-2MM per year on Crawford's contract. That's the least of their problems.

Why shelter Leddy? Was he really that bad? Lots of times a d pairing makes one player better or a great tandem. But who knows. Leddy was getting bounced back and forth between rozy and brookbank. Maybe leddy was carrying them. hhmmmm.

But Oduya, you get a physical forecheck on him, he does not impress and it is turnover city.

Ignorance at its finest...
- CBHawks88

That is not entirely true. How quickly people forget Crawford's recent foot injury. It was said behind closed doors that upper management was furious with Crawford - they specifically put it in his contract that he was not supposed to participate in those events anymore and he violated those terms. It was discussed that they would not pay him while injured and the topic of terminating the contract also came up. It was reported on NBC at the time.

So there is a problem with CC - and don't believe for a minute it went away just because his foot healed.

That has nothing to do with the original post. He said "CC IS the problem" with this team, which is 100% unequivocally wrong.

So in conclusion, you want to unload a goalie with his name of the cup, who's name is on a Jenning's Trophy, who's had rock solid numbers his whole career,

but is scuffling of late to a large extent because the club around him is faltering

for a couple untested, low paid no-names because...

...Niemi helped the Hawks win a cup in 2010, so it's obviously gonna work again.

Thank goodness you're not GM, although if you can convince the Blues to hire you I'm all for it.

- ArlingtonRob

Don't forget to add Keith to that trade. They are both bums.

Or maybe Rozy carried him in 2013.
He was sheltered because contrary to what many believe, Q , for the most part, does try to put his players in the best position to utilize their assets.

If the Hawks didn't have Oduya in 2013, there is no way they win that Cup. He was probably their most consistent player throughout those playoffs.

Funny. Brookbank looked like a top pairing Dman when he played with Keith.

I'm as much a fan as the next. But the older I get, the more I see sports as entertainment, just like a movie or TV show. What do they have in common, the end is always known to someone.

14 goals for the team over the span of 6 games. 19 given up plus extra one given in shootout loss to Detroit.

Kane and the Toews line account for a fair amount of the production over the span. Richards and Bickell are noticeably absent on the scoreboard.

I wonder how well Richards is doing in regards to fitting in here.

- 333inthe3rd

Considering Richards and Kane carpool to practice and games and have been seen hanging out around Chicago with other teammates, he likely fits in fine. Richards was out with Kane, Sharp, Keith, Seabrook, and their wives/girlfriends the other week at Studio Paris.

I don't really get the locker room disturbance thing only because I don't see why any of them would hang out with each other outside the room then.

He has to be. No one could possibly believe Keith should be traded.

I am saying Stan has to see what he can get for him. He is a high-mileage player, and if you can get a younger version of him, you have to seriously think about it. There are only so many Hossa's, Jagr's, and Selanne's in the world.

No, the issue is a group of posters led by the aforementioned who tried to undermine the whole blog. Of which I believe you were a member. Wanna keep this going? Cuz I know where it's gonna end.

Using this train of thought, the Wings should have traded Lidstrom when he was 30?

Do I have that right?

I know you dislike Leddy, but the truth is that Rozsival-Leddy worked really well as a paring, especially in 2013. They had a really good balance of stay-at-home with a guy who could move the puck. If Rozsival got beat by an opposing player, Leddy could help out. If Leddy got stripped along the board, Rozsival was there to bail him out. It's also why Boychuk-Leddy is working this year - they're just a good balanced pair.

And lbr Brookbank looked like a top-pair guy for a few games, but his overall play suggested that wasn't sustainable.

Yeah, ummm, you don't get to decide that, actually neither do I, the mods do. And if you did, ummm no, sorry. It was a rhetorical question. Nice try though.
