Ugh. He seemed to spin things at times. Insightful but a little shady. I miss the heated debates but he crossed the line in the end.

You're right, everything is sunshine & rainbows.

Maybe this team isn't that good. Ever think of that?

- JoeHawks88

This is a good team, but the chances of winning a cup, questionable. Stars need to align and favorable matchups need to present itself. Definitely a rough patch now. But relying on the top guys (burning them out) will not be beneficial come playoff time. Need to roll four lines and have back-ups come playoff time.

One important observation during the 2013 season, the lines were pretty consistent during the season especially on the lower lines. They did get changed up in the playoffs.

How lucky we were in 2010 when Campbell came back during the Nashville series. Hawks were hurting so bad, they had big buf playing defense. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

The next week is a big week for this organization. Guys with a lot more knowledge have some difficult decisions to make. Come March 3rd I hope this team is ready to realistically contend for a cup.

it only seems like forever the last time the hawks won 2 in a row in regulation: dec 14 and 16 vs flames and wild. that was a very good month and then oops!!

what happen to my last post about Toews and Kane home town discount and media conspiracy (maybe clever ploy by agent)???

Ah it is what it is. You probably shouldn't rip Tallon too much for Bolland crazy price signing. who is going to play in Florida? And Tallon does need some Stanley cup experience and Bolland does takes his play to a new level during the playoffs. FWIW. but still a little pricey.

Questioning how much someone is a fan of a team based on if they're willing to pay a bunch of money to go to the game is unfair. I'm a fan, but I would rather watch from the comfort of my couch then pay $80-$100 to sit a row or two before standing-room-only in the 300's. But that's what happens when a team is doing good for a number of years.

Also, if you're paying $1,000 a ticket to go to a home game, more power to you, but that's wild. You're either really wealthy, season ticket holder or Ric Flair...either way, rising ticket prices have phased out the blue collar fan base/presence at home games that the Hawks built up and had for years. Cost of winning, I suppose. But it's a bummer that the average dude who wants to take his family to a game has to essentially take out a loan to afford the tickets, parking, and food/merch costs.

- Hank3Henshaw

I think he meant 4 seats for that amount. I can remember the club circle seats in the old building costing 12 bucks. And it does suck that the average dude is priced out. But like you said, it's the cost of wining. I feel worse for the guys kid(s). I wonder how many of the Fratelli dancer fans will still be there when the hawks slide to average sooner or later.

And Sharp is still a Hawk.

Im feeling Sharp to the Panthers for a nice return.

Plus

Raanta and Shaw sent for a legit defenseman .

Glad to see you here today Rob. I was thinking last night we might need to call the AHPD for a well being check.

IDK.. Last I checked, a lot of "those types" still go to the Cubs games despite the team being dogpoop.

just looking for a dman that can play during playoff time, we know Rundblad will not. Oduya will be questionable? TVR?

What is interesting, brookbank played solidly filling in for Seabrook during the Blues series. but this year gone from hockey? But it was a good scenario for Brookbank. Also makes you think how Emery looked great behind the hawks system.

A little harsh, but he snapped. I've snapped too, especially at that unnamed source guy who couldn't wait to say NO to everything I had to say. I've had a disagreement with just about everyone here at some point including Paulr. It's hockey, a passionate sport. It happens. But if I had to nominate a best poster at this site it would be snap it upstairs. Consistently insightful posts.

And I would second that nomination - very out of character for him to make that one post.

Food for thought:

Sharp was hurt in the game on Nov 4 against Montreal, and returned for the Dec 9 game against NJ.

Up to the game of the injury, the Hawks went 7-5-1.

While he was out, the Hawks went 11-3.

After coming back, and up to the time of Reif's death, they went 4-1-1.

Post Reif's death and with Sharp, they have gone 13-11-3.

I hope I didn't miscount anything along the way.

Last I checked those Cubs tickets weren't anywhere near as expensive. I grew up a Sox fan and I still like to take in a game at Wrigley in the sun during the week. How cool would it be for the Sox and Cubs to face each other in the World Series. The bar fights would make more headlines.
