Clearly the only way for you 2 guys to settle your dispute is by being forced to sit together in the platinum seats 20 games per year watching the Maple Leafs.

These would be tickets you actually paid for. Now that is value for the money.

. Thanks but no thanks. I turned down free tickets already to see your hero Neon Dion.

True but you cant find #1 Centers and Leading NHL scorers everyday...Goalies with a career .915 save% are all over the NHL and making 1/4 of what Crawford makes

C'mon, Snapit - very unfair - some people on this board can't afford to (or think it's foolish to) spend that much on a hockey game - but they are fans just like those that do - and, in some cases, are just as knowledgeable.

If you're looking for an acceptable rate of return, call Morgan Stanley or Mesirow. It's entertainment.

And only Jaeckel or Kolb should really be suggesting people should get lost.

A little harsh, but he snapped. I've snapped too, especially at that unnamed source guy who couldn't wait to say NO to everything I had to say. I've had a disagreement with just about everyone here at some point including Paulr. It's hockey, a passionate sport. It happens. But if I had to nominate a best poster at this site it would be snap it upstairs. Consistently insightful posts.

You're right, everything is sunshine & rainbows.

Maybe this team isn't that good. Ever think of that?

It is embarrassing....but you've gotta give them the benefit of the doubt. LA looked even worse than the Hawks look right now about a month ago or so(not to mention the added off ice issues with Voynov, Richards getting demoted, etc.)....look at them now. Look at any elite team during any stretch of any regular season....there are ebbs and flows, peaks and valleys. Rarely EVER is there a long consistent stretch of dominating play.

Even in 2013 when we had about as long of a stretch like that you could possibly have, we STILL damn near lost to Detroit in the 2nd round, and needed a miracle to turn it around and advance. That Red Wings team was pretty bad that regular season, snuck in, and probably should have eliminated what was arguably the greatest regular season team ever(though obviously not over 82 games).

Look at the team in 2010. Look at the month of March. They went 6-8-1! In March! Including giving up TWELVE goals in back to back losses to the freakin' Blue Jackets! That close to the playoffs!

Then there was last year. Last year we were even worse IMO than we are right now, and for a longer stretch of time. We never really picked it up or got going before the playoffs, and Kane and Toews both got hurt. Well, we still made it to game 7 of the WCF.

My point is, many fans need to relax, put these things into perspective, and realize that the grass is greener on the other side....things are bad now, but wont last this way. Not with the history this team has, not with the proven track record. Its impossible.

#coyotes were close to a trade involving Zbynek Michalek but it had to be halted because of his upper body injury. #tvasports

Wonder if the Hawks were the team involved?

>Wondering where my post says that
>Funny, you spend so much time pom-pom waving yet how much money do you actually spend attending Hawks games?
>Some of the people on this board are spending $1,000 every home game
>And while they understand that there will be some regular season stinkers and gladly accept them, this current Hawk product is far below an acceptable return
>How about you get lost until the Hawks win 3 games in a row?

- SnapitUpstairs

Questioning how much someone is a fan of a team based on if they're willing to pay a bunch of money to go to the game is unfair. I'm a fan, but I would rather watch from the comfort of my couch then pay $80-$100 to sit a row or two before standing-room-only in the 300's. But that's what happens when a team is doing good for a number of years.

Also, if you're paying $1,000 a ticket to go to a home game, more power to you, but that's wild. You're either really wealthy, season ticket holder or Ric Flair...either way, rising ticket prices have phased out the blue collar fan base/presence at home games that the Hawks built up and had for years. Cost of winning, I suppose. But it's a bummer that the average dude who wants to take his family to a game has to essentially take out a loan to afford the tickets, parking, and food/merch costs.

Is that to prove or counter my point? Looks like a lot of parity amongst the top 32 goalies...

He and I didn't agree very much, but the grandstanding he used to do on me was on another level. We seemed to make peace and then he seemed to vanish. Couldn't tell you what happened. Wish him well if you bump into him.

You snapped. I snap. It happens.

The glorious part of this blog is the different perspectives. I see what you saw yesterday. However some other guys have a better feeling and god willing they are right.

Time will tell. We all want this team to win and let's hope bowman does make a trade. This isn't like prior years with people pining for steve ott. Thus is more then just a fine tune.
