The thing about trading prospects is people are afraid of what might have been a few years down the road. They don't want feel like they lost out on something.

But, you really never know, especially in hockey. I think it is worth the risk to trade something that anther one sees as valuable.

- rmiethaner

It's not fear it's logic. Some of these guys are going to be good. The whole point of rebuilding was to acquire players through the draft

He also said they wanted him and required he be in the deal.

I believe it was the part of the presser when he said I can show you the email, actually I won't but he was required.

Must have been a combo of both I guess, I remember reading about it.

It was said that Murray put him in the deal because he wasn't going to sign here, his agent told Murray that from what i've read.
- SABRES 89

Murrey said at the news conference that they discussed the contract, hadn't come to an agreement but that had nothing with him being in the deal. Of course I take everything most GM's say with a grain of salt but I stand by what I think. I doubt he would have gone back into the draft.

Maybe, maybe not. I'd have to go back and see how many 19 year olds have been 1st round picks after going back into the draft. It doesn't make them look good, and he reportedly is a snot to his coaches in juniors which doesn't score him points either.

Just an example of a player redrafted. There are examples on both sides of the conversation though.

The Rangers would be a good team to try and grab a player from.

It was both reported.

IMO they tried to sign him but couldn't come to terms which then became overblown to he wouldn't sign here by the media.

Yea, mhp and i were talking about before. Lots of speed and good in his own end, I think he and Foligno would be good together.

Zuccarello could be an option as well if they decide to hold on to Hagelin and St louis.

I think Jarrett Stoll was a re-draftee as well.

February break with my family before my daughter heads to college next year. I feel bad reading about the weather home.

The temperature is 82 - 85 degrees every day. It rains for about 45 minutes most nights to cool things off. Great people. Awesome food. Amazing rum.

- Der Kaiser

If I were on vacation with my family, the very last place I would be, is here.

"Just sayin".

Go enjoy.

I like both TE's but Cameron is hurt alot IMO.

A very good point. And Clay seems to be a better blocker. Either way, it's probably a good idea to address that position in free agency.

Stoll

Both were drafted higher in the same round, since Lemieux can't be drafted higher in the same round I guess he'd be taken sometime in the 15-22 range if he re-entered the draft in 2016

I'm sitting at 75 and sunny right now. Mild breeze. Corona in hand. Going to dinner on the water somewhere tonight.

Taken in the 1st and was re-drafted 2 years later in the 2nd.

Like I said there are examples of both happening.

Spector reported today that the Rangers offered Zuccarello a 4 year deal for between $4M-$4.25 per and it was turned down. Apparently he is seeking 5 per. I'd love to get Hagelin if they end up signing Zuccarello. They also need to sign RFA's Stepan, Miller and Moore.

Yep. I hope the Bills grab one of them so we have one less position to fill at the draft.

The weather here in Buffalo fantastic.
People just love to complain rather than embrace it.
The same candy asses cry when it's too hot as well.
People need to embrace whatever God has lain upon their feet.
You never know when it will be your last time to indeed embrace it.
