There also isn't enough room, organzationally, to keep them all either. There's limits to how many contracts they can have. If they don't move some as package deals they'll end up losing some of them for absolutely nothing because they don't have enough contracts to offer.

I had little hope for Armia and Lemiuex would have signed here. There aren't a lot of players who go back into the draft, it hurts their draft status and then their check book. That was all BS after the trade.

What do you mean? He didn't put him in the package because after the trade he claimed he wasn't going to sign here, I don't believe. The Jets reportedly wanted him at the draft last year and tried to to trade up to get him and, most likely, demanded, he be in the package.

A well-rounded talent, Clay is a solid blocker as well as an able pass-catcher. Clay would be a significant upgrade on Buffalo's current starter at tight end, Scott Chandler. We have Clay ranked third among free agent tight ends.

I'm don't know who is available that knows how to throw the ball; slim pickens there. But a good TE can really help a mediocre QB. I'd be happy with Clay or happier with J Cam. Especially since we don't have a 1st this year to help fill the holes.

The thing about trading prospects is people are afraid of what might have been a few years down the road. They don't want feel like they lost out on something.

But, you really never know, especially in hockey. I think it is worth the risk to trade something that anther one sees as valuable.

Maybe, maybe not. I'd have to go back and see how many 19 year olds have been 1st round picks after going back into the draft. It doesn't make them look good, and he reportedly is a snot to his coaches in juniors which doesn't score him points either.
