Would it be unrealistic to think he would sign a deal matching Kane's $6m/year?
- adambuffalo

I wouldn't think so.

That part sux. Ennis is our only goal scorer. Would rather add to him than replace him.

I would compare Ennis and RoR to Briere and Drury to a lesser scale. I was always more of a Drury fan and would take him over Briere every time. Similar to a Toews and Kane situation as well. Kane is awesome, but I would prefer Toews.

Ennis, Ruhwedel and our late 1st for ROR.

Even if he did sign... How much will it cost?
Paying him $7mil per would be crazy
The AVs should've signed him for 5mil a year when they had the chance

I think it's too risky to trade for him
I do really like him as a player though, so I'd give him a call when he becomes a UFA (I really think he won't sign an extension with anyone)

I'd rather go after Burmistrov in a trade. I think we could get him for a 2nd, or maybe even less bc of the KHL uncertainty

- jdfitz77

He's not going to go after Burmistov, he's going for ROR.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't this year's first be out of play unless we trade for him without having a contact extension? July 1st is the soonest we can talk to him right? So if that is the case, I would prefer not to make a move on him until then, meaning it would likely be next year's first that would be involved - perhaps of more interest to Colorado anyway.
- Cup Crazy '07

that is true there is no way it's a first in this years draft ..

looks like TM hoping for a first at the deadline to use for him at the draft then

He's another one where I'd have to call his agent first. Don't trust it.
- grand-magus

Agree. He's still a risk, but for what we'd have to give up (I'm assuming it wouldn't be too much) it could really be a home run.
He's a pretty good player, def a top6 guy.
I know he's listed as a center, but I'm pretty sure he was playing RW for the jets before he went to the KHL
I remember reading about his analitics and how he had good numbers. I remember comparisons to Oreilly
Worth the risk IMO

Nothing as of yet, whisper of Gringo and McCabe and possibly another player from the AHL. It's to soon to tell.

Seems like he wants to go to UFA & see how big a deal he can get

I think it is risky, but when he becomes a UFA he can go anywhere he wants to. I like the idea of bringing him in and seeing the organization and where it's going. Not to mention you may get a better deal on an extension rather than when he hits the open market.

Thanks.

Let the speculation begin (in 3, 2, 1) on who the other AHL player might be...

I think ROR feels they don't want him in Colorado IMO, he always seems to be up in trade rumors. They can't pay 29, 9 and 92 plus ROR. There D is horrible IMO.

how well is Joey Hishon playing in the minors? you would think if they trade for Gringo they wouldn't resign Hishon maybe and Gringo is the 3rd line Center?

I believe what you're saying about ROR,
But that doesn't mean a deal will happen. They may want too much or Murray could get outbid. I guess we'll have to wait & see.

I really like Oreilly as a player, but I hope we don't get him an can move on to someone a little less risky, and hopefully not as costly (in what we'd have to trade to get him, and pay him)

I don't mind the Gringo part. I'm still not convinced he's going to be more than a fringe NHLer. But that's just my perception of him. He looks to be too much of a perimeter player, for me, and you don't win a Stanley Cup with too many of those.

That makes sense. With ror ,Kane, ennis ,Girgenson ,moulson ,reinhart & mc eichle that would make grigorenko the odd man out.

More so, how are his concussion issues?
