Actually the Rangers would need the Coyotes to eat salary. The Coyotes want a 1st round pick. So the Rangers would need to offer something of value to off set that asking price. - tomburton99
Im saying we can gomez for much cheaper than vermette, whos also just a rental |

Arizona won't eat salary. But a 2nd and Fast package may get it done and keep us under the cap with fast going the other way? |

yesterday the Devils claimed that they aren't selling, they are still trying for that last wild card spot - jimbro83
That's funnier than us trying to get Scott Gomez. |

The one thing making me nervous in trading away those 2nds or our prospects, is that our pool is so thin already. We have three d-man that project to crack the line up in coming years in McIlrath, Skjei and Graves. And we have three forwards that should also make it in Duclair, Buchnevich, Lindberg or maybe Haggerty. The rest of the guys in the system are major question marks at this point and probably won't make any impact for 3-5 years down the road if ever. Sather needs to manage our assets and cap very carefully. |

speaking of fat ladies, I watched 3 episodes of 600LB woman last night on TLC. Any one of those monsters should be singing for the Devils right about now |

If they won out, they would only finish with 103 points. |

I would trade those 2nds for a chance at the cup though. Rangers need to be in a win now mode IMO |

Have you seen gomez play? He was terrible wit his last year with the Rangers. He has inflated point total this yar because Cammalleri and Jagr carry him. |

You have a better chance at seeing the Lions win the super bowl than the devils winning out. |

If the Rangers really are comfortable with Hayes at center, they have a lot more options at forward and at cheaper rates.
I actually think a lot of fans are overvaluing certain players on the rental market, turning Vermette into Gretzky and Sekera into Orr. Which begs to question, who is going to pay the prices that are being suggested for these guys. My bet would be not many teams.

Somebody will. The Rangers don't have too, not if Kevin Hayes continues his accelerated progess. I like Winnik, but I don't see the Rangers trade Miller and 2nd for him, just so Winnik, Stempniak and Glass can rotate in and out. |

Vermette had that game vs Montreal a few weeks ago where he went 23-6 on faceoffs, right at the same time we had our worst faceoff game that really got everyone goin |

I would too, but such a trade can't be made. So you have to make sure to really be getting a solid player in return when offering key prospects and key picks.

Agreed. Winnik won't require that package though. Likely a 2nd plus a guy like Kristo at the absolute max. |

So, here's a question, this $5 million figure that Zucarello is reportedly asking for, is that based on actual inside information about the sides talking? If it is, does that figure make Sather consider moving him?
Listen, I really believe that the Rangers would use Zucc as an own rental rather than trading him, but you never know with Sather. Also, if they give up hope on re-signing Zucc, because his number is in outer space, than that opens up some possible options with term remaining on their contract. And, before you know it, Tyler Bozak will be wearing a Rangers uniform. |

Is that serious? God it has to be rough to be a Devils fan right now. You suck. And, your future sucks. And, if that's true, your GM is delusional. And, you have 16 coaches. And, 15 players over 40. - Pete V

Of course you've seen them all and all of the Rangers prospects are the fastest in the universe - Cptmjl
No need to get condescending here.
I said I would match the speed of the Rangers players I mentioned against the two 6' 6" Panthers and the 6' 3" Jimmy Hayes.
And I have seen all the players mentioned live, in person against each other with the exception of Buchnevich.
I dont know if you want to talk hockey or troll here...... |

The Gulitti said that. That LL, Jagr and Jagr's agent have put trade discussion on hold due to the team's better play, |

You never know what Sather is going to do. It could be nothing. It could be a minor little depth move. Or, it could be a holy crap, where did that come from type move. You just never know. |

Yes ive watched a lot of his games. He was terrible in his last season because we did with him what we did with holik and nylander anddrury and richards. We tried to lean on him as our number one center, which he wouldnt be now. Hed fill a role that we need filled. Thats all. Really dont know what all the uproar is about. Id rather give up a fourth for him than miller and a second for anything else |
