And IMO, Zuccarello needs to be resigned at all costs. $5M per is not overpaying him and in terms of what the Rangers need? We need character, determination, grit, speed. Zuccarello embodies all of this. He's had moments where he doesn't gather points, but really? They are brief moments. Thats why he's got a .63ppg average for us. I think if he was signed long term to a good contract, he will also perform with much more consistency. If he knows hes a Ranger for life, he can concentrate on playing and when he does, he's a big time performer. I guarantee you Zucc will be in beast mode in the playoffs. Him and Stepan are priority for me, MSL and Hags not nearly as much. |

Did we all forget that Gomez had 128pts in 158 games for us? I'm not saying I want him back, but he wasn't bad at all for us. We got McDonagh for him because he had value. He just wasn't worth his contract at the time and between him and Drury, he was the .
only guy that was getting us something back to build with. - xcheckmajor
forget what he did or didnt do before. Hes got 22 in 30 on one of the worst teams in the league, playing on the first line. I dont see how having him wouldnt be an upgrade over our current fourth line uncertainties

Why no? Have you watched him play this year? Hes on a league minimum contract and hed be in a greatly reduced role. Much cheaper option than vermette - rferrone
No. 1st off the Devils & Rangers dont deal with each other so its a moot point. |

Dont laugh....how about scott gomez?
He would only take a third or fourth rounder, maybe we can get them to take Glass with it.
Hes been almost a PPG player on the Devils first line, i think he could fit in well on our third with the stretch game AV has implemented. Just a thought, cheap help on faceoffs with some offensive production - rferrone

He's being sarcastic. He's saying that it would be great for the Isles if the Rangers got Gomez. |

He doesn't play a 4th line role. Rangers don't need top 6 type players. They need 3rd-4th line depth guys. |

Gomez is having a good year on a league minimum deal. But, the Rangers and Devils have never, ever, ever made a trade. And, do you really want to move Hayes to the wing to make room for Scott Gomez?

I think rule #1 of this blog should be to never ever have an ego about a trade proposal you throw out there. |

I think that is the point. The Devils are so terrible that they are playing him a Top 6 role. He really doesn't fit with the Rangers as a third line center.

I'd honestly prefer glass over Gomez, but this isn't a glass vs Gomez situation. There are many, many other options out there. Just because we don't get Gomez doesn't mean we can't get bergenheim, winnik, etc. |

Kovalev did workout with the Rangers in training camp. Not a bad idea. |

yesterday the Devils claimed that they aren't selling, they are still trying for that last wild card spot |

Actually the Rangers would need the Coyotes to eat salary. The Coyotes want a 1st round pick. So the Rangers would need to offer something of value to off set that asking price. |

Is that serious? God it has to be rough to be a Devils fan right now. You suck. And, your future sucks. And, if that's true, your GM is delusional. And, you have 16 coaches. And, 15 players over 40.
