Tell Ron Francis to trade himself to the New York Rangers as a rental. He could play out the season and return to his duties with the Canes thereafter. - Pete V
He probably still has better hands than half the guys in the league.

My only concern with Hayes is that just because he's playing great now doesn't mean he's going to play great in April. - rangerdanger94
I'm sure Hayes will have his ups and downs just like every player. I firmly believe in 2 years he will be the Rangers #1 center. Funny cause I knew absolutely nothing about him when he signed, but Jimbo seemed to be really excited about it.

Yea he's going to be a special player.
I think we get so caught up in whoever is doing good right now and we tend to assume that they will continue to do well 2 months for now and that's dangerous.
2 weeks ago, Zucc sucked. Now he's tearing it up. But in 2 more weeks, he can suck again. Stepan tore it up all year but besides last game has been invisible for a few games. Hayes is killing it right now, but do we want to bank on him killing it in April? Or do we want an insurance policy in Vermette?

I agree, but with Hayes, its the tools he has already that you can' teach. His vision is phenomenal, defensively he is great, he always heads to the front of the net. Great puck handling. Faceoffs, and some other areas can be taught.
As far as Zucc, he is another player I have seen enough of to want to keep him. Some of the same tools as Hayes, but in a Garden Gnome stature.

Agreed all around. I just want to win the cup now. Adding Vermette for a playoff run and temporarily shifting Hayes to the wing until next regular season isn't a bad move.

What would you be willing to pay for Vermette -- bottom line?
At the absolute maximum, tambellini and a 2nd I guess. - rangerdanger94
should have said nothing.... that would get Sather smacked... 2nd, 3rd, McIlrath, and Kristo might start the conversation... Vermette is going to go for more than he should. some idiot GM is going to pull the trigger on a rediculous trade.
what would be more valuable to AZ is if Sather told their GM that the rangers would draft for them the next few years... haha
