I actually think the Sabres can end their rebuild quickly Flames style if things fall into place and they're aggressive. I look at Dallas, a team that looked like it was going nowhere, who makes 2 blockbuster moves in acquiring Seguin and Spezza and now they're a respectable team. Buffalo made one bold move in acquiring Kane and have the assets to make another.

What if buffalo signs niemi as a free agent and then acquires a guy like Yandle through a trade? All of a sudden, they have a good mix of youth and veterans and could surprise.

- rangerdanger94

Agreed, Niemi would be the right move for them. They don't need to make the playoffs but playing meaningful games in the second half of the season is important for development and player's mindset. They also don't have to give up any assets by getting him as an FA and as a former champion can be used to groom/mentor a young goalie

I'm assuming that's a mistake especially if they are playing at the same time

It looks right according to the channel menu. Is mayor McCheese in today? Maybe he can shed some light on this .

I like it when Daniel Bryan does it. When a professional sports franchise does it I find it on the level of an AHL team. So, you do the math. hated it when the SF Giants did it this past year as well. Bush league. So you guys keep it up. I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah its legit. They are going to be airing some more games in March as well. Seems like the Advertisers are jumping on the Isles bandwagon The Ranger replays will still air on MSG and the Isles replays will air on msg+

Rob Rossi reporting the Rangers are interested in Jordan Staal. As soon as he tells me how they are fitting in $6 mil in salary per year for the next seven years, I will believe it.

Who is Rob Rossi? I remember the Rangers were close to getting Jordan Staal on draft day according to Dreger before Pit traded him to Carolina.

Nowadays I like the idea of Jordan Staal more then actually getting him

I like Jordan Staal, but no thanks for that salary. Guy has never scored more than 50 points or scored 30 goals in his career

Car buying him out?? thats the only way. unless they want to retain 50% of his contact. J Staal for $3M per isnt that bad. i personally wouldnt want him though, would definitely stunt Hayes' growth. sounds like people are getting desperate for clicks.

there is only one way possible we could acquire Jordan Staal.

And that is Derrick Brassard going the other way.

Zuccs, Stepan, Mcilrath Moore, Glass, Skjei and a 2nd rounder for both Staal Brothers and 2016 1st. This is how this works right?

McEichel are talented players but they're just kids. If buffalo relies on Reinhart and McEichel to be top 6 players at any point in their first 3 or 4 years in the league, they will fail Edmonton style.
- rangerdanger94

Nah. This isn't Hall or Yakupov or even Mackinnon we're talking about here. We're talking about probable Crosby level talents.

The Penguins missed the playoffs crosbys and malkins first year in the league together right?

Why in the (frank) would we buy out a 50 point two way center who is only 26 years old and signed to a perfectly reasonable $6 million per year?

Sure did. But that's because the rest of the team was hot garbage.

I'm not suggesting Buffalo will be great in the first year or two, but McEichel will be elite talents almost immediately.

I've been reading recently that Eichel might need to return to college for another year. McDavid did look amazing in the world juniors though for sure.
