I don't think the Flyers will offer more then a 2 yr deal to him at this point.

He may be stuck accepting a 1 yr deal and trying to showcase for the big UFA deal the following year.

yeah. that is a very likely scenario. even if he bumps up to what schultz got, if he can play like he has this year that is still a very workable contract.

I don't see Ghost stepping right in next year.

Ideally he has most of next season in the AHL with some call ups as needed.
To count on him as a regular next year would be a mistake I believe.

i'm just expecting another season-long injury. because flyers.

yeah. i do think that injury was a bad break. robbed him of a lot of development time in the AHL this year.

although if for some reason MDZ isnt in the fold next year, the internal options for replacing such an element are pretty bleak.

should he leave/be traded, how close do you think that ghost can come to filling his role next year?
- stayinthefnnet

I think Ghost should be in the AHL and see some more time first, he probably could use some more seasoning in my eyes.

Boston in desperation mode. Taking Subban out to put Rask in and still down 1-0. Good News for the Flyers...so far...

yeah. with those types of guys, the more seasoning the better to me.

although man, if MDZ is either traded or somehow unsigned, streit is going to have his hands full yet again.

good for him though. hes been pretty impressive this year.

I'd prefer they moved Streit he'd probably bring a much better return.

i do think streit, even with the 3 years left at fairly sizable money, would have some pretty good value on the market.

but you definitely are creating a huge void with him gone, as of now.

As much as I believe Streit is not part of the problem and I don't like trading free agents who sign who have actually done their jobs, I cannot argue that post

yeah.

i guess it just boils down to whether or not do you think that through the combination of guys already in the regular lineup developing and being better, the slow trickling in of young guys, and any other potential moves, do you expect the team to be able to take that next jump during the next two years of his contract.

always a day late and a dollar short.

actually caught a good chunk of the oilers/jets the other night. was a pretty exciting game.

had no idea that RNH is leading forwards in ice time per game. thats pretty cool. yak also had a pretty nice snipe on the powerplay. was nice to see. i had forgotten what it actually looks like when teams shoot on the PP.

Couldn't help myself, had to take a look

B's still look just a half-step slow. Not terrible, not so much that it makes them awful

But enough where they just are not able to dominate anyone right now

Maybe Edmonton does help us tonight
