With the 28th ranked penalty kill theres no way we'd go deep even if we make playoffs. I know this team took a blow losing Timonen but as a team they needed to pickup the slack. It would be unrealistic to think even having 44 back will instantly turn the PK around. That HAS to improve for this team to be a contender

Rank means nothing, it is how you play dudring the playoffs that matters. You can be 28th but put a PK streak on like the Flyers are now easy. Look at the 2010 Flyers. Sucked all season and got hot at playoff time.

If they are able to make the playoffs, I'm assuming their PK play will improve greatly. Despite their season rank, their play from here on out would have to be a drastic improvement over their season ranking.

I know stats dont mean everything especially in hockey, and especially come playoffs but it would be nice to think of our PK and feel that its solid enough against the best of PP's. 2010 was a different animal..
